The purpose of this position is to oversee and manage the activities of selected Cox Media markets and projects. This position is held accountable to achieve growth in revenue and profit objectives within the assigned geographic areas served by multiple systems, and assigned sales channel(s). As a member of the Senior Leadership Team, this position helps the corporate organization to realize a holistic view of the customer for well-rounded strategic planning and execution. This role is responsible for developing and monitoring metrics to maximize performance and establish annual budget targets for all products and channels. This position is responsible for building high impact organizations and will work closely with field leaders to recruit, retain, train, and motivate talented leaders and representatives.
Responsibilities Include:
Provide leadership to create and coordinate resources to achieve overall P&L and operating objectives. Implement programs to optimize profits for the overall organization.
Work with the senior leadership team to establish company strategies and plans, and effectively communicate and execute them consistently across the entire company, with focus on assigned markets.
Ensure each assigned market organization is focused on productivity and service quality, and integrate all the functions to have a sound operation, supporting ongoing growth.
Hire, train, motivate and guide Cox Media Vice Presidents, in assigned markets and channels. Ensure a participative work environment in each assigned market that will attract and maintain a workforce of talented and satisfied employees. Work with market leadership to develop succession plans and strategies for talent growth.
Develop and maintain market intelligence and an understanding of market and economic trends, client business needs, and industry perceptions of the company's initiatives and industry environment.
Serve as company expert on sales. Inject sales philosophies, service requirements and accountability tools and measurements to be instilled throughout the organization.
Own design of company-wide sales channel strategy with partner Group VP to establish standards and boundaries for local implementation, ensuring that each of their assigned markets understands the strategy and executes across channels and team members.
Lead development and implementation of sales structure in the local markets and new standardized sales channels designed to reduce cost to serve, lower churn, and ultimately increase revenue with all customer segments and drive high customer satisfaction.
Lead in the development of annual sales compensation design, documentation and execution of enterprise-wide sales plans.
Ensure that the proper training / skill development and selection tools are available for sales reps in all channels to succeed.
Demonstrate depth of knowledge in cross-platform advertising needs, including particular strength in digital offerings, market dynamics, functionality and sales expertise.
Develop close partnership with partner Group VP to ensure consistency in execution across standardized roles, teams, strategies and tactics in all markets and sales channels.
Work with Marketing, Product, PMO and Sales Services teams to analyze customer needs and data to effectively launch go-to-market strategies, products, leverage effective channels and shared client services, and streamline support processes and alignments.
Ensure that client needs are understood and appropriately emphasized to product development and management teams. Work cohesively with those teams to ensure that the product portfolio is customer-centric with a market-leading selection of complementary offerings.
Collaborate to shape the product and service rollout plans in all assigned markets, including budgeting, sales execution and client feedback for each product.
Serve as the corporate "voice of the customer" ensuring client opinions, concerns and opportunities are represented internally.
Build and sustain positive customer perceptions by measuring internal performance and client satisfaction.
Qualifications:
BS/BA degree in related field preferred. Masters' degree a plus.
Minimum of ten years' experience within the cable industry or equivalent relevant experience.
Previous general management experience and demonstrated leadership ability in a progressive customer-oriented environment.
Strong verbal and written communications skills and demonstrated presentation skills.
A strong bottom-line, market-driven orientation with the ability to translate ideas into tangible business plans.
Functional experience that encompasses knowledge of advertising, marketing, sales, customer service, finance, programming, digital, human resources, and operations (including best practices).
