This position supports all aspects of outbound and inbound logistics, including carrier communication, finished good accruals, and alignment of in-house activities to achieve shipping goals at Sea Ray Tellico. This also incudes directing the day-to-day activities of the shipping/loading area personnel and processes. This role also provides oversight of the Order Operation processes. Other responsibilities include daily execution of finished product load optimization function, management of load change request process, managing trailer optimization and equipment utilization.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Drive a culture of excellent safety procedures and set an example for the team as a leader.            
  • Be honest, open and treat others with dignity and respect.
  • Daily order/load building, trailer capacity planning and routing.
  • Daily updates of system/data entry.
  • Daily customer service function with facility/plant management and dealers.
  • Daily communication of load schedule/BOL’s.
  • Compliance to Standard Operation Procedures.
  • Daily communication of execution plan to plant management and loaders.
  • Optimize truck loads to minimize transportation costs.
  • Plan and build loads to meet monthly Sea Ray Tellico goals and provide a forecast for the trailers to be used to the carrier and BBG Logisitcs.
  • Provide information to dealer/sales on loads’ progress and status when asked.
  • Work together with Finance to ensure all boats are invoiced and have pick up dates before the end of the month and quarter end.
  • Communicate and issue reports to management concerning the status of load progress; update Gemba board.
  • All other duties as assigned.

JOB REQUIREMENTS

  • 1 - 3 years’ experience in a manufacturing environment. Shipping/Logistics experience preferred.
  • High school diploma, GED, or equivalent.
  • Possess the desire and ambition to work safely and report hazards to supervisor immediately.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills. This position requires communicating with carriers, dealers, sales team, finance, corporate logistics, and assembly area personnel.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities in a fast-moving environment.
  • High focus on attention to detail related to schedules, invoices, and carrier communication.
  • Ability to use a computer in a Windows-based environment with MS Office, OBMS, ShopFloor.
  • Ability  and flexibility to work extended hours and overtime as scheduled, especially during peak season.
  • Able to adapt to changing requirements in a positive and proactive way.
  • Ability to interact professionally and effectively with all levels within the organization with high level of customer service.
  • Reliable attendance to work.
