Mission
As the Group Fire Protection Manager you will manage (with the support of the Group Head of HSE) and lead the Group’s strategy for:
- Fire & life safety
- Insurance compliance – related to fire controls
- Compliance against Group fire risk control
In addition to the above, the position will also support the Group Head of HSE with other tasks as directed and act as a deputy in time of their absence.
Scope
All Richemont Operations Globally, including:
- Health, Safety & Environment (HSE).
- All Richemont entities, staff, and operations.
Key Responsibilities
Fire & life safety strategy
- Own and lead the Group’s fire strategy to ensure life safety arrangements are clear, communicated and implemented throughout the Group.
- Liaise with insurance risk surveyors, risk assessors and brokers to ensure suitable and sufficient fire controls in line with both parties’ risk appetite.
- Deliver advice and support to entities (i.e. HSE Representatives, Store Planning & Design, Real Estate, etc.) in their fire safety strategy.
- Ensure that relevant minimum standards, guidelines, and other documents are provided, accurate and available for users.
- Ensure subsequent training is provided to all involved.
- Evaluate innovative fire safety solutions, technology and support early adoption of fire safety ideas.
- Work towards an engagement strategy and improving transparency of fire safety for entities.
- Identify and assess the fire safety level of existing buildings on request.
- Identify fire scenarios and take them into consideration for fire protection planning.
- Advise on fire concepts for key construction projects from initial authorization, building work follow up, work reception to final declaration of conformity.
- Advise on fire concepts for hazardous material storage locations and ATEX environments.
- Advise on fire concept for key events.
- Follow up on post-fire decontamination where necessary.
- Support fire protection site assessments and surveys.
HSE Management
- Support the Group Head of HSE with strategy, projects, operations, and tactics as directed.
- Manage HSE service partners and consultants to deliver HSE services/projects as necessary and directed.
- Deputize for the Group Head of HSE in times of absence or when necessary.
Desired Qualifications & Experience:
- Fire engineering degree / Fire Expert qualification level / Insurance Risk Surveyor specialised in Fire
- 5/10 years management experience in a related subject to this role
- Degree in a related HSE subject is a plus
- Certification as Swiss Fire Safety Officer (AEAI/VKF) and knowledge of other fire protection legislation, in particular French and English, would be a plus
- Knowledge of chemistry and chemical safety would be a plus
- Knowledge of Swiss HSE legislation, knowledge of other European HSE legislation would be a plus
- Ability to communicate at all levels
- Ability to provide reports and presentations and use standard Microsoft applications
- Fluent in English and French is mandatory, additional languages are an asset
- This role requires to travel (around 20% of your time- mainly Europe)
