Job Description

Ensures work process adherence to the global standards for the sites in their region geographical scope. Leads update/development of standards to met business requirements.

The role of the Green Bay 3rd Party Logistics (3PL) Leader is to ensure the safe and efficient operation of the Green Bay Distribution Center (DC).  The 3PL Leader will deliver key factor results for the DC and build capability of the 3rd Party logistics organization to deliver the CBN.  The role will require closely working with the 3rd party logistics organizations as well as P&G Cincinnati based warehousing, transportation, and customer teams.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

Capability of Systems- management of: Distribution Center shipping, Droplot operations, warehouse inventory management, warehouse quality/financial controls systems, productivity, facility management, direct ship, cost/budget management and billing related systems to ensure they are robust and deliver business results. 

Capability of People – the development of technical and leadership skills at all levels in the organization and coaching of the logistics management team and P&G resources to deliver business results.  Provide training and coaching to the 3PL regarding P&G’s practices/processes, expectations, business objectives/needs, culture etc.

Role Specific Tasks – includes, but not limited to:

  • Achieve Family Care Benchmarks for Customer Service Performance Measures and Key Performance Indicators including cost, inventory accuracy, and shipment execution.
  • Own DDS with 3PL (plant, warehouse), copackers
  • Report monthly results via scorecard for IRA, LRDT, Missed Cases, Orders Loaded on time (LOT), Orders Delivered on Time (CSOT) and warehouse caused cuts (CFR).  Assist with gap plans when not at goal.
  • Ensure reliable warehouse operation and efficient interface with partner organizations (NAPD, Category, T&W, Customer teams)
  • Maintain customer service with carriers
  • Research, respond to customer issues
  • DC Operations SPOC for Initiatives responsible for the deployment of the initiative and enabling of the warehouse vendor to deliver
  • Hold monthly scorecard and cost review meetings with 3PL and P&G Leaders
  • Conduct periodic blind counts of the DC inventory to validate IRA reporting
  • Conduct periodic truck audits of outbound loads to ensure loads are loading per standards
  • Assist in troubleshooting and analyzing problems on shipment delivery outages
  • Conduct walk through tours with the DC leadership to uphold standards
  • Manage and track performance of warehouse quality and financial controls systems (QPHA/Internal Controls audits) and develop improvement plans
  • Perform CSA/Audits/Toolkits for Distribution
  • Maintain effective DC space utilization as well as zero damage product plan for all storage areas.
  • Use RTCIS as to manage the DC and drop lot performance
  • Manage relationship between 3rd party logistics organization and customization vendor
  • Manage the 3PL Budgeting and P&G forecasting
  • Own direct ship tracking and working with both warehouse and plant 3PL
  • Member Supply Network Operations Pillar
  • Submit Purchase order requisitions 3PL, Fuel, approve and manage GRs. 
  • Forecasting of Shuttles, Transfer Shipments using BW
  • Owner of Site droplot and guardshack procedures for FP
  • Track costs for quality and conversions done at warehouse for cost charging to correct line item
  • Liason between the site QA organizations and warehouse operations.  This would include QA special requests, customer complaint follow up, road returns.  Ensure GMP and QA compliance of warehouse quality systems

Qualifications

SPECIFIC SKILL REQIREMENTS:

  • Strong computer skills or capability – The role will require extensive use of following programs  - Excel, RTCIS, SAP, Auto Scheduler, PUMA, BW etc…Existing knowledge is not required, but capability and willingness to learn quickly is key.
  • Strong written/verbal communication skills – The role will require frequent written and verbal communication between multiple parties including 3rd party logistics team and P&G Cincinnati resources.  Working across Organizations.
  • Being on-call is expected including some holidays, during key shipment events or emergencies.
  • Problem Solving – Experience and results in the areas of strategic thinking and creating breakthrough solutions.  Knowledge of IWS tools and capabilities (Loss Analyses, VSM and WPI)
  • Leadership –Lead and coordinate diverse teams to deliver the desired results.  Coach, develop and hold people accountable across disciplines to deliver results (contractors, NAPD, technicians and 3PL).
  • Collaborative Relationship Skills – Work with external contractors, across Modules and with central P&G Teams.  Strong collaborative skills are needed to lead and coach team resources through daily issues and problem solving.
  • Organization – Must have strong organizational/DMS skills to manage daily issues while driving supply chain projects and managing competing priorities.
  • Solutions Focused – solutions oriented and operates with a sense of urgency.  An ability to proactively integrate the appropriate resources to implement sustainable solutions that lead to breakthrough savings.
  • Strong personal initiative, responsiveness skills and accountable to deliver results.  Must have the ability to work independently, manage time conflicts and constraints on several projects/issues running in parallel.
