Austin Health is offering a Mental Health Graduate Nurse Program in 2022. Austin mental health graduate nurses are provided with a supportive environment as a foundation to enable them to develop to their full potential. Our graduates have two clinical rotations to integrate contemporary mental health theory into clinical practice, in either inpatient settings or the community.Austin Health is a major provider of tertiary health services, providing professional health education and research across three campuses in the northeast of Melbourne and state-wide. Austin Health is world-renowned for its research and specialist work in cancer, liver transplantation, spinal cord injuries, neurology, endocrinology, mental health and rehabilitation.An exciting opportunity currently exists for enthusiastic graduate nurses to join Austin Health in our Mental Health Graduate Nurse Program in 2022. We offer a well-supported Graduate Nurse Program including a structured orientation program ongoing paid study days, educational opportunities and supernumerary days in a range of general and specialist child, adolescent and adult mental health services, inpatient and community. Our service has a strong focus on consumer centred, recovery focused, high quality care.Our dedicated graduate nurse coordinator, graduate educators and our Clinical Education Unit are available to assist and support graduate nurses in this transition year for the duration of the program. Graduates are also supported by area preceptors and their managers.
