Position Summary

Government & Public Services (GPS) Delivery Excellence Senior Consultant

The mission of the GPS CMMI (Capability Maturity Model Integration) Team is to maintain the ability for the GPS organization to bid on proposals where CMMI is a contractual or competitive barrier to entry while reducing risk and improving performance on our Implement and Operate project portfolios. To this end, the CMMI Enabling Senior Consultant will work directly with project teams to bring expertise in the CMMI Development and Service models, Deloitte Delivery Approaches and Core Capability Content, Agile delivery methods and techniques, and quantitative and statistical analysis of metrics including predictive process performance modeling. 

Work you’ll do

As a CMMI Enabling Senior Consulting within our Delivery Excellence team you will perform some or all of the following for multiple assigned projects: 

• Provide CMMI onboarding training to project teams
• Review project plans and work products for CMMI appraisal readiness
• Provide metrics training and manage the collection, reporting, and analysis of project metrics
• Perform quarterly project reviews and identify action plans to address gaps
• Manage project team preparation of objective evidence and interviews for CMMI Appraisals
• Participate as an Appraisal Team Member for GPS CMMI Appraisals (requires travel)
• Support other GPS Delivery Excellence priority initiatives as needed

Qualifications

Required:

• Bachelor's Degree in business, engineering, computer science, mathematics, or related field
• 4+ years of relevant consulting or industry experience specific to Implement and Operate services
• Ability to influence and motivate teams and individuals outside of a traditional reporting structure
• Ability to explain complex standards, processes, and statistical concepts to project teams

Preferred:

• PMI Project Management Professional (PMP) Certification
• CMMI Associate Certification
• CMMI Training Credentials required to participate in CMMI V2 High Maturity Appraisals
• Knowledge of Deloitte Methods, Delivery Approaches, and Core Capability Content
• Expertise with Agile delivery methods and techniques (Certified Scrum Master or PMI Agile Certified Practitioner)
• Prior experience with the CMMI Development and/or Services Model
• Prior experience as an Appraisal Team Member on SCAMPI A or Benchmark appraisals
• Prior experience with statistical analysis, monte carlo simulation, and process performance models
• Prior experience with PowerPoint, Excel, SharePoint, Minitab, and/or Crystal Ball
