The Global Travel and Expense Intern will provide analytical and reporting support for the Enterprise globally, create spend dashboard reporting based on specific cost savings projects and other Travel related analysis, build relationships with 3rd party vendors and Travel Management Companies, present analytical findings to leaders and executives, perform supplier audits ensuring health and safety for all travelers, and assess benchmarking and Travel industry trends to drive efficiencies within the booking and travel process.

Responsibilities:

A Day in the Life…

  • Utilize system databases to customize reports, retrieve financial data, and perform analyses on historical data and trends
  • Capability to assist in the automation of data imports within the reporting landscape using Tableau
  • Create spend reporting dashboards utilizing business intelligence tools, based on key Travel metrics and cost savings scenarios
  • Assist with annual operating plans and quarterly forecasts, creating variance explanations for executive review
  • Participate in month-end/quarter-end close functions
  • Assist in the consolidation and preparation of summaries and presentation decks
  • Support the continuous improvement of operational functions by streamlining processes and enhancing reporting automation
  • Partner with TMC’s and Studio Production Finance leads delivering on requested reporting, analytics, and cost savings scenarios
  • Provide recommendations to enhance TMC and Travel Supplier audit program
  • Perform commission audit process
  • Partner with communication teams to enhance online guides for preferred vendor programs
  • Distribute and summarize hotel survey from travelers for program negotiation
  • Summarize Travel Industry benchmarking data to be utilized to drive increased efficiency
  • Assist in major departmental projects, providing support as directed
  • Safeguard employee information
  • Ensure compliance to company policy

Basic Qualifications:

What you Bring to the Role...

  • Working knowledge of Excel, including formulas, pivot tables, and charts
  • Proficiency in Microsoft PowerPoint and Word
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Capabilities to use business intelligence reporting tools such as Tableau
  • Quick and eager learner with a “can-do” attitude
  • Demonstrate a passion for excellence with respect to treating and caring for travelers
  • Demonstrate an ability to multi-task, prioritize and plan work activities to use time effectively, always ready to handle a multitude of urgent matters
  • Highly detail oriented with strong organizational skills
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills
  • Keen interest in Hospitality Business and the Travel industry

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Advanced skills using Excel (Power Pivots and Macros)
  • Experience in financial modeling
  • Experience with financial systems
  • Extensive experience using Tableau and Tableau Prep or other business intelligence tools

Required Education

  • Junior or Senior currently pursuing (or recent graduate within 6 months with) an undergraduate Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Economics, Data Science or other business-related major

Additional Information:

Internship Eligibility:

  • Must be enrolled in an accredited college/university taking at least one class in the semester/quarter (spring/fall) prior to participation in the internship program OR must have graduated from a college/university within 6 months OR currently participating in a Disney College Program or Disney Professional Internship
  • Must be at least 18 years of age
  • Must not have completed one year of continual employment on a Disney internship or program.
  • Must possess unrestricted work authorization
  • Program Dates: Must be fully available from June 2022 through January 2023
  • Must be available to work full-time hours (approximately 40 hours per week) for the duration of the internship
