Key Responsibilities
Line manages, in line with GLM expectations up to 5 Sourcing Managers globally, ensuring successful performance, whilst laying the foundation for on-going tailored development
Accountable for the development and delivery of Infrastructure and Info Security global category strategies that are aligned with the Indirects CPO and Digital Technologies Leadership team alike – this is for Networks, Hosting, IT Support, Telephony, End User Computing and Info Security
Acts as the Digital Technologies Commercial Lead for all Mergers, Acquisitions and Divestiture activity for Mars Inc, developing a playbook for differing scenarios
Oversees benchmarking, RFP activity and drives the qualification and implementation of new suppliers where appropriate
Accountable for supplier governance, including supplier performance and ensure the SRM program implementation across all the strategic suppliers in the Infrastructure and Info Security area. Acts as key and first point of contact for these strategic supplier relationships.
Analyses supplier service levels and KPI to drive the right behaviours with suppliers.
Develops continuous improvement action plan and executes. Monitors changes and adjusts plan as needed to sustain performance results.
Identifies and manages supplier collaboration initiatives (e.g. forecast management, electronic invoicing, operational process streamlining, etc.)
Secures price, capacity & service levels in line with commitments to the business.
Ensures effective risk management of the supply base, through robust contracts and monitoring of financial and other KPIs. Implements corrective actions as appropriate.
Establishes & maintains relationships with key stakeholders, up to and including VP level and their teams to ensure understanding of their needs and to facilitate the appropriate level of challenge.
Complies with policies, systems & controls.
Communicates business risk & opportunity.
Provides market and financial insights relevant to the subcategory and inputs to the internal financial planning and review processes.
Implement best practice for areas of responsibility. Participates in team knowledge transfer.
Participates in external forums and associations.
Acts as an able deputy to the Senior Director – Digital Technologies Commercial, actively participating in Digital Technologies Leadership Team sessions and able to co-pilot the Chief Digital Officer
Context and Scope
The role leads implementation of sourcing strategies for the Infrastructure and InfoSec categories. Its impact spans a set of subcategories within Mars Global Services Commercial. This role inputs into and executes Strategy and Supplier Relationship Programs for 6 global subcategories.
The role must work within current existing local, regional and global frameworks, understanding of impact of third party resources on local, regional and global Mars businesses, whilst limiting Mars’ exposure to risk, consulting, educating and managing Clients on best practice for procurement and contracting and creating long term solutions.
The role requires excellent senior internal stakeholder and supplier management, requiring solid judgment, clarity and comfort dealing with ambiguity.
Education and Professional Qualifications : Minimum: Bachelor’s degree
Knowledge / Experience
Minimum of 10 years of relevant professional experience, and 5 years Procurement experience
Ideally with experience in Technology Sourcing
Experience in managing global spend in excess of $200m per annum
Working in a cross-functional business environment/team
Project & activity management
Interaction and successful persuasion of C-suite executives
Experience line managing a team globally and able to adapt line management style based on the team’s specific development needs
