Global Payroll Lead
Our technology teams in the UK work closely with HSBC’s global businesses to help design and build digital services that allow our millions of customers around the world, to bank quickly, simply and securely. We also run and manage our IT infrastructure, data centres and core banking systems that power the world’s leading international bank.
Our multi-disciplined teams include: DevOps engineers, IT architects, front and back end developers, infrastructure specialists, cyber experts, as well as project and programme managers.
We work in small, agile DevOps teams with colleagues around the world.
Following extensive investment across our Technology and Digital domains, we are currently seeking an experienced Global Payroll Lead to join Corporate Function IT, Enterprise Technology, Digital Business Services.
This exciting role involves leading the IT service and change agenda for the Payroll product area. The individual should possess detailed technical product and process knowledge of the HR Success Factors Employee Centrall Payroll solution as well as solid project management skills to track the IT plan, resources, and risk/issues/dependencies for the workstream. Additionally, the role holder will perform a fundamental function in the sustanainability of the solution through delivery of the vendor regulatory changes/upgrades as well as providing innovative extensions of the HR solution.
Reporting to the HR IT Product Manager, the individual must possess excellent relationship management skills as the role holder will be working closely with HR business colleagues to support the HR service lines to meet their goals across all global regions and entities.
Candidate will be working in a fast paced, cloud based environment with peers across HR IT and serve as the technical expert primarily on SAP Employee Central Payroll and related parts of the SAP Successfactors suite; Knowledge of SAP Successfactors is a requirement
Experience in mutli-country SAP Employee Central Payroll deployment and support with extensive experience in ABAP programming, experince of Point-to-Point Integration and Payroll Control Centre
Experience of SAP BASIS support is preferred
The individual will participate in transformation challenges of varying complexity to enable the function to drive transformation agenda as well as work with the customer and HR IT teams to ensure overall stablity of payroll services
The role is global and across multiple HSBC service lines within the Corporate Function area. This role will carry out some or all of the following activities:
Demonstrate an ability to work on an international team but can also do so independently on a wide variety of projects across a series of workstreams, building stakeholder buy-in around plans, commitments and change
Perfom duties to stay within department and project budgets and time constraints
Manage the reporting of progress, issues, dependencies and risks to committees and make recommendations to influence decision making in order to maintain progress towards delivery and benefits realisation
Utilize Agile methodologies and DevOps practices within Technology teams (e.g. Scrum, Kanban) in line with corresponding transformation frameworks at the bank/in Corporate Functions
Ensure adherence to the Change Management Policy in order to avoid or minimise the risk of disrupting services to customers and users.
Experience with the delivery of major Transformational programs within banks
Extensive Knowledge of Business Process and back end Automation initiatives
Experience of Incident and Problem Mangement
SME experience of applications and automation
Requirements
KNOWLEDGE
Technical knowledge of SAP Successfactors would be highly desirable
Knowledge of the Human Resources function and/or relevant employee/customer corporate processes in a global environment
Knowledge of service management and service related analytical practices
Knowledge of Agile Delivery Methodologies
Knowledge of DevOps practices
Knowledge of banking operating models
Ideally possesses a DevOps and/or Agile Certification
Educated to degree level or above
EXPERIENCE
Experience with project management practices and change related to people, business, engineering and service management environments
Organisational transformation towards Agile Ways of Working (Scrum, Kanban, SAFe) and DevOps practices
Evidence of large scale / global technology transformation, service introduction and/or service management
SKILLS
Ability to present technical details to a non-technical audience and experience of working closely with a diverse stakeholder group (IT, operations & business)
Good written skills with the ability to clearly document and explain method and frameworks, and how they interoperate within the principles of DevOps practices
Understands the advantages/disadvantages of on premise architecture versus cloud platforms/architectures (IaaS/PaaS/SaaS/AWS/GCP/Azure)
Proactively advances knowledge of technologies and practices through self-study, hands-on experience, and formal trainings
Aptitude for problem solving and sharing best practice, methods, tools and templates
Experienced in the building business cases, their management and benefits realisation
Good interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate, gather and act on information
Banking sector background (ideally tier 1 global bank)
Helps with on-boarding, coaching, mentoring and training to ensure that we are building a winning team
This role can be based in either London or Sheffield.
