In September 2020, Unilever announced the intention to build a new sustainable campus site in Kingston, London to house the employees who currently work in 100 Victoria Embankment in Blackfriars, Lever House in Kingston, Unilever House in Leatherhead and Graze in Richmond. We are creating our own Unilever sustainable, agile work environment, purposefully bringing us together in our own Unilever ecosystem. The campus is due to be completed in December 2023 and will consist of two interconnected buildings, as well as landscaped surrounding areas.

JOB PURPOSE

REIMAGINE GLOBAL MOBILITY TO STEP-CHANGE ENGAGEMENT AND TRANSFORM EMPLOYEE EXPERIENCE

The aim of Reimagine HR is to move HR Services from a back-office organization to become employee-facing, unlocking productivity, managing individual employee cases, enabling speed, responsiveness and simplification to future proof our organization.

We are reimagining HR with the aim of “Making employees experience at Unilever as simple and delightful as it can be, allowing people to be their best: boosting sustainable growth”.

To achieve this, we need to become fully digitally empowered and embrace the opportunities given through technology (e.g. chatbots, digital recruitment, etc).

GLOBAL MOBILITY MANAGER

The Global Mobility Manager will be a key change agent building and driving the new Reimagine Vision with great experience and effectiveness in the UK and Global Pillars.   As you are responsible for the operational service delivery of a customer-focused GM service to our employees, you will report into the Employee Experience Director. The Employee Experience team is responsible for the Employee Experience of Unilever employees, employed in a region. The areas that are covered by the team are for example case management, query handling, managing Workday, payroll, learning, resourcing, and all of our HR processes are built around Key Employee Moments. Global Mobility is a Key Employee Moment that has a huge impact on the employee who is moving locations and the team is responsible for managing all of the long term and short term assignee types globally across the end-to-end mobility processes, which includes accountability for the global processes, technology and operational service delivery. You will also be part of the Global Mobility Leadership team with all other Global Mobility Managers to ensure that all moves are aligned to the global policy and managed consistently.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • The Global Mobility Manager will be a proven leader and responsible for the day-to-day management of the Global Mobility team.
  • A key member of the Unilever Global Mobility (GM) team which provides support to International Assignees and the broader HR and Reward community to provide a pioneering mobility experience.
  • Ensure that the operations and service delivery of the team are delivered to the business in accordance with agreed service levels, performance targets and user and client satisfaction.
  • Embed a service excellence mindset and drive continuous improvement and change management to maximize user experience.
  • The role leads the overall management of all Global Mobility related activities for the UK and Global Pillars.
  • The role partners with key stakeholders – HR, Reward, Equity, Service Delivery Core HR, Employee Experience teams and the rest of the GM Leadership team to ensure that the GM strategy and service is delivered effectively.
  • Lead the change of a services mindset into a more Employee Experience mindset within the GM team.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Lead for the UK and Global Pillars advising on Global Mobility Policy & Strategy providing key GM expertise and specialist knowledge.
  • Build the GM capability of the team.
  • Provide data insights to the Core HR Director and the HR Managers, using the dashboards or other tools.
  • Accountable for overall Global Mobility end-to-end service delivery for UK and Global Pillars ensuring cost-effective delivery.
  • Accountable for overall client and user satisfaction within the cluster, ensuring that the Global Mobility service delivery meets key metrics, acting as a GM People Experience lead.
  • Responsible for the day to day operational vendor management of key Global Mobility suppliers in the cluster providing services to senior-level international assignees – tax and compensation provider, immigration provider and relocation provider.
  • Responsible for partnering with Global Mobility vendors regionally to drive continuous improvement across Global Mobility both policy and operations.
  • Responsible for the landing of strategic projects, simplification ideas, policy changes and process improvements in their cluster – particularly large program transformation activities.
  • Principal Global Mobility point of contact for VP HR’s, HRD’s, Vendors, Financial Directors and VP’s and other key stakeholders on global mobility issues within the cluster.
  • Technical expert on tax, equity, immigration, social security and payroll compliance for countries in the cluster.
  • Advising HR business partners and People Experience Leads on Global Mobility policies, application of policies, cross border compliance issues and advising on potential solutions.
  • Manage regional communication and capability building with key stakeholders on all GM matters.
  • Policy expert within the cluster and responsible for making pragmatic and efficient decisions around policy application – balancing both business needs and global governance.
  • Escalation point for resolution and clarification of end-to-end GM issues within the cluster.
  • Direct interaction with senior-level international assignees WL4+ and managing policy exceptions within the global exception management framework.
  • Partner with the Employment Excellence team on all matters related to severance and ER/IR cases for assignees.
  • Managing all aspects of performance management for the team including recruitment, appraisals, performance ratings, exits and career development.
  • Proactively identifying cluster operational issues and suggesting process fixes.
  • Regularly provide status updates about GM matters to the Head of Employee Experience in order to help with stakeholder management.

In the most sophisticated cases, they will set up fake websites, which have a similar address to companies like Unilever. They even conduct fake telephone interviews and then offer candidates a role with the proviso they pay a fee for background checks or to cover work visa costs.  These types of attacks are becoming more common as more people are looking for employment in the economic climate.
