The successful candidate will:

• Act as the Global Innovation (GI) HSE leader for a number of projects and platforms in a variety of technologies and Operating Units (OUs).
• Provide support for OU Engineering and R&D innovation projects and initiatives.
• Fully understand the scope of projects and be able to identify the HSE risks, evaluate the appropriate HSE strategies, and optimize the HSE solutions in relation to capital requirements and availability.
• Coach and enable the project teams to ensure the required steps are completed at the right time in the life cycle of the projects. As needed and from time to time, the candidate will provide expert support for site HSE issues and problems, and supports HSE governance topics.
• The candidate will be located in West Chester, Ohio. The travel requirements will be up to 20% of the time

Qualifications

EDUCATION:

We are looking for someone with a BS/MS in Engineering: Environmental, Mechanical, Chemical, etc., with willingness and ability to develop further capability in all areas of HSE.

PREFERRED WORK EXPERIENCE OR CERTIFICATIONS:

• 5+ years of HSE related experience is highly desirable.
• Functional capability across all HSE disciplines with mastery in one or more, preferably in environmental and/or IH&S.
• Technical background to expand HSE capability in areas other than those already mastered.
• Will consider technical resources (e.g., process engineers, project managers, plant engineering and R&D resources, etc.) who have had significant HSE exposure in previous roles, projects, and assignments. For a highly motivated and technically capable candidate, this could be the foundation to quickly develop the HSE mastery required in this role.
• Experience in or exposure to the initiative management processes and change management at a site or central level, or with R&D or Engineering functions.
• Strong problem solving skills. Ability to assess HSE risk, develop alternative and novel solutions for risk control and mitigation, and partner with project teams on optimizing solutions.
• Strong situational leadership skills, and ability to partner with teams representing diverse interests. Must have the ability and willingness to coach, influence, and hold accountable project resources to deliver required outcomes. Ability to collaborate with teams and work effectively with autonomy.
• Effective communication skills. Ability to communicate complex technical content succinctly, and appropriate for all levels of technical and business skills.
• Highly collaborative member of a diverse team.
