We are currently seeking an ambitious individual to join our team as Global Head of Controls, Global Transformation and DCOO Optimisation, working together with colleagues to define, manage and achieve divisional business targets.

The role holder will partner with the Global Head of Transformation to ensure delivery of risk based, strategic outcomes for HSBC, including informing and advising on relevant risk and control based issues and initiatives that impact Global Transformation.

In addition, the role holder will partner with the leadership team of the DCOO Control Office and DBS CCO stakeholders to ensure delivery of risk based, strategic outcomes and advising the stakeholders on relevant risk and control based issues and initiatives including Controls Optimization, Transformation, Regulatory Compliance (including Sarbanes Oxley (SOx) and Controls Testing) across DCOO.

You will be a leader within DCOO COO that directly supports DCOO and DBS CCO stakeholders.  The purpose of the CCO function is to enable colleagues within HSBC DBS to deliver safe and secure services to all our customers, colleagues and the Bank itself. This will be achieved by:

    • Enforcing robust risk governance and ensuring all stakeholders have visibility of key risks and any remediation activity
    • Partner and advise on setting, communicating and monitoring risk appetite in line with business requirements, including appropriate support and challenge.
    • Conducting high quality and efficient reviews of our control performance.
    • Facilitating controls remediation where required.
    • Raising awareness and understanding of risks, controls and risk management.
    • Continuously improving the control and monitoring of risk, including behaviours.
    • Embedding the Bank’s Risk Management Framework

The role holder will be responsible for CCO activity within Global Transformation as well as Controls Optimisation including, but not limited to: Risk Management Framework, Regulatory requirements, Controls Optimisation/Simplification, Transformation and continuously improving efficiency, quality and capability of your team and CCO DCOO over time.

The role will have global responsibility and ensure that partnership support is provided to all stakeholders, as appropriate.

The role holder will be responsible for implementing robust risk management practices across DCOO to ensure transparency and clarity of DCOO risks.

Working with Global DCOO, the role holder will be expected to demonstrate the ability to lead and strategically transform their team to a value based, and outcome focussed way of working, including driving cultural change to deliver strong integrated risk management across DCOO.

In this role, you will:

  • Drive and execute strategy to enable high performance across your team, Governance & Oversight, Appropriate Risk Reporting, Issue Management etc.
  • Drive a Business Partnering approach to ensure a close understanding of individual business requirements and providing customized strategies that align to overall Group objectives and actively support individual and business specific needs on an end-to-end basis
  • End-to-end delivery of CCO services to all stakeholders in accordance with agreed service catalogue & SLAs and enhance CCO reputation across the Global Transformation.
  • Deliver services in accordance with regulatory and internal governance requirements.
  • Collaborate across DBS CCO, identifying and delivering opportunities to continually transform, reduce complexity and duplication
  • The role holder will be responsible for partnering, with DBS CCO stakeholders, Global Transformation, DCOO, Transformation Programs, Regulatory Compliance, and delivery of Conduct and Culture activities.
  • continually assess non-financial operational risks and likelihood of operational risk occurring. This will be achieved by reviewing risks associated with the role and inherent in the business, or as identified by the Global Transformation, taking account of changing economic or market conditions, legal and regulatory requirements, operating procedures and practices, management restructurings, and impact of new processes.
  • have experience and understanding of customer journeys, business application controls, risk management frameworks, business transformation framework and significant audit or risk methodologies.

Qualifications

 

To be successful in the role, you should meet the following requirements:

  • Expertise in Risk Management practices, including but not limited to: Governance & Reporting, Risk & Control Assessments, Risk Management Framework, Regulatory requirements, Controls Optimization/Simplification, Business Transformation Framework, SOx, Control Testing and business engagement.
  • Ability to develop trusted adviser status with key Executive stakeholders through SME expertise, industry experience and track record; ability to understand desired Business outcomes across the matrix and ability to translate in to well communicated and clearly articulated outcomes
  • Proven track record in driving cultural change across audit, risk and/or control teams to deliver strong integrated risk management across Functions and business areas is highly desirable
  • Prior experience of audit, risk and/or controls relating to Business Applications and IT Infrastructure, Regulatory requirements (incl Sarbanes Oxley and controls testing) is highly desirable
  • Prior experience of working in a global matrixed organization is highly desirable
  • Knowledge and understanding of the HSBC Group organization is desirable
