Human Resources leads the implementation of the Group’s people strategy in line with business objectives. It facilitates talent management, succession planning and employee mobility while defining and overseeing frameworks that support employee performance management, reward, learning and development, resourcing and engagement.

We are currently seeking an ambitious individual to join our team as a Performance and Reward Specialist, Benefits, working together with colleagues to define, manage and achieve divisional business targets.

Role Purpose

The Performance and Reward Specialist, Benefits will be responsible for developing the strategic direction of global pension and employee benefits for the Group. Reporting to and ultimately accountable to the Head of Group Pensions & Benefits Policy.

In this role, you will:

  • Manage global benefits strategic planning – use personal expertise, internal and external forums, data, research etc. to understand market and best in class practice, and deliver and manage a multi-year strategic plan
  • Provide focus on how Benefits strategy aligns to HSBC’s strategy and values, and to the change portfolio across the bank
  • Create the business case for new products, services and initiatives, then test and ultimately obtain internal stakeholder buy-in
  • Stand up projects to implement strategy including budget approvals, internal and external resources, project plans etc.
  • Continue developing tools to provide employee insight, cost reporting and benchmarking capabilities
  • Develop and update global policy and governance frameworks

Requirements

To be successful in the role, you should meet the following requirements:

  • Key Capabilities – Functional Expertise, Change Management, Consulting Agility, Business Impact, Relationship and Consultancy
  • Experienced professional who challenges the status quo
  • Extensive knowledge of pension, insurance and employee benefits practices in global organisations
  • Proven track record successfully implementing complex initiatives within a global organisation especially those involving diversity & inclusion and digitisation
  • Experience working with global providers such as Aon, WTW and Mercer
  • Ability to navigate complex matrix organisational structures across different cultures
  • Strong social skills, confident and ability to work at all levels within a global business environment - ability to deal assertively but sensitively with varied internal and external stakeholders across a matrix environment.
  • Highly developed presentation, connection and social skills
