Job Summary:

Global Crisis Management’s (GCM) mission is to collaborate with key business partners and customers to support all Disney (and its affiliates) employees in building, sustaining and improving Disney’s capability to prepare for, respond to and recover from all hazards. GCM accomplishes its mission by four approaches: plan development, training and exercising developed plans, implementing the use of technology for emergency use and partnership with internal and external partners.

Responsibilities:

  • Provide emergency planning technical expertise for plan development, exercises, drills and training.
  • Support the Program Manager, Crisis Management on the development and implementation of the Community Emergency Response Team (CERT) program
  • Support all Crisis Management enterprise-wide preparedness programming such as building teams, employee engagement, national preparedness month etc.
  • Support the activation of enterprise-wide emergency operations as outlined in the Corporate emergency response plan.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Basic Qualifications:

  • Excellent personal communication and diplomacy skills.
  • Exceptional computer, social media and presentation skills.
  • The ability to manage difficult situations, leverage limited resources and design emergency management programs.
  • “Can do” attitude.
  • ICS 100, 200, 700 and 800

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience working in an Emergency Operation Center environment.
  • ICS 300 and 400 or other FEMA ICS planning and operational classes.

Required Education

  • Working on a 4 year degree in Emergency Management, Homeland Security or like field.

Preferred Education

  • Working on a Masters degree in Emergency Management or Homeland Security

Additional Information:

The duration of this internship is from May/June 2022 through January 2023.

Must be currently enrolled in an accredited college or university and taking at least one class, or be a recent graduate of an accredited college or university within the last 6 months at time of application, or be currently participating in the Disney College Program, Disney Culinary Program or Disney Professional Internship Program
