JOB DESCRIPTION

The purpose of this position is to implement Purchasing initiatives and activities for the casting commodity in accordance with the business strategic requirements set forth by Worldwide Procurement Management. This position will be responsible for developing a global strategy for the casting commodity that has a detailed plan for each segment within the commodity as well as a plan for each supplier.

Job Responsibilities:

Develop global sourcing strategies

•Global resource for the commodity

•Track global capacity required for the commodity

•Maintain data base – bid list, scout, performance data

•Identify, manage and own global suppliers

•Provide assistance to regional buyers

•Facilitate cross-regional, (cross-business unit) communications

•Collaboratively set and achieve global commodity cost reduction goals

•Lead and support Global RFQ efforts

JOB REQUIREMENTS

QUALIFICATIONS

• Bachelor’s degree in science, engineering, supply chain or material planning

• Global manufacturing and supply base knowledge

• Able to analyze and interpret market data

• Well versed with the industry and commodity expertise

• Clear understating and knowledge on commodity specific cost drivers

• 5 – 10 years of castings experience in an automotive industry required
