Job Description

The Global Commodity Manager will be responsible for providing guidance, counseling, insights and analysis on commodities risk management to ensure high quality decision making for our Commercial business partners and serve a single point of contact for the commodity back office center. Actively participates in onboarding of new Commodities into the global hedging program, ownership of other CIP activities required to deliver our treasury strategy, governance and control including oversight of year end audit and quarterly reporting to the business.

What are we looking for?

  • Bachelors Degree – Finance, Accounting, Economics, Business administration or similar.

    Post Graduate Degree, Masters or similar (preferred)

  • Knowledge of Excel is essential – experience in pivot tables and complex formulas is required.

  • Knowledge of digital tools used to analyze large volumes of data and present them in a meaningful way is desired e.g Alteryx, Tableau, Power BI.

  • Ability to understand computer databases and systems is required.

  • Analytical and problem-solving skills.

What will be your key responsibilities?

  • Responsible for the design, implementation and maintenance of controls and governance for the commodity hedging environment.

  • Responsible for the quarterly reporting process over the commodity center operations supporting the Mars Incorporated financial statement preparation including providing the corporate team with all required information and financial disclosures where requested.

  • Responsible for the year-end audit process over the commodity center operations including providing the auditors with all documentation required and providing input for financial disclosures and financial reporting where requested.

    Increase efficiency and control by using intuitive and automated models and databases where possible.

  • Responsible for providing training to the business units for all back-office commodity center operations and business unit accounting support.

  • Manage bank accounts and treasury management systems to ensure they are controlled and managed efficiently and effectively, including any interfaces with ERP environments or connections to Treasury platforms.

  • ​Responsible for reviewing and maintaining the security controls framework within the commodity center and ensuring appropriate segregation of duties for all system users.
