Job Description
The Global Benefits Strategy and Execution Director is responsible for the design, evaluation, deployment and governance of benefits plans and programs globally that are employee focused, competitive and in compliance with legal requirements. The Director provides benefit expertise and leadership in program governance, the evaluation, selection and implementation of suppliers, consultants, and other business partners, including the negotiation of fees and contracts. The Global Benefits Strategy and Execution Director will serve as a subject matter expert on benefit design, governance and deployment strategies to HR, People Services, business leaders and other key stakeholders. The Director is externally connected, involved in professional associations and other venues to understand the external environment monitoring leading and emerging practices to shape the future of the Company’s benefit programs.
What You’ll Do for Us:
- Serve as an integral member of the Global Benefits organization working across multiple regions and functions, including but not limited to Total Rewards, People Services, Legal and Finance.
- Responsible as part of the Total Rewards – Global Benefits team in the development of global strategies for benefits.
- Develop the strategy and implementation of benefit policies, programs, and plan design changes globally.
- Provide strategic consulting expertise to internal and external business partners in the design, governance, implementation, administration, interpretation and communication of Benefit policies and programs globally.
- Supervise multi-country/cross business benefit projects – including developing project plans, prioritize, organize and lead delivery of large/complex projects in line with strategy and business objectives.
- Operate at a strategic level to educate, guide and influence key stakeholders on adherence to the Global Benefits Strategy and assessment of risk and compliance.
- Partner with the Reward Director and wider team to identify opportunities for the existing benefit offering through improved planning, governance, engagement/uptake, communication, education/training, identifying, and delivering cost savings.
- Play and integral role in the global OU Benefits Committee Committees. Provide support as the subject matter expert (SME) to the Total Rewards Manager/People Services in the preparation of material, delivery of meetings and escalation of outcomes post meetings.
- Provide dotted line management and coaching to Reward Consultants specific to Global Benefits related plans, programs and/or initiatives.
- Provide support for HR Operations teams and HR Business Partners on complex benefit queries and issues.
- Design and develop key performance indictors/metrics to enable the measurement of the effectiveness of benefit plans, programs, and delivery models globally.
- Special Projects –Addition responsibilities may be assigned as part of annual business planning process.
Qualifications & Requirements:
- Bachelor of Science Degree or equivalent in Human Resources, Finance, Project Management or a related discipline.
- A minimum of 10 years of experience in a consulting, global benefits or total rewards function with a strong background in design, development, and delivery of benefit programs for large multinational company.
- Demonstrated leadership and project management skills, results oriented.
- Operates as a global leader with understanding and appreciation for regional differences.
- Comfortable with both detail and broader strategic level thinking along with confidence to respond quickly in unfamiliar situations, relying on both data and judgment to prioritize appropriately.
- Experience managing vendors with understanding of vendor operations, processes, policies, and procedures along with the ability to interpret contracts and administrative service agreements.
- Sense of urgency, attention to detail and accuracy, well organized and able to prioritize.
- Strong understanding and working knowledge of benefits laws and regulations.
- Excellent written and oral presentation skills.
