General Assistant

• 20 hours per week with possibility of extra hours

We are BaxterStorey, an independent hospitality food service provider operating in the UK, Ireland and Europe specialising in restaurants, cafes, deli bars and exclusive dining rooms for clients and customers in business and industry.

This role is based at an Agricultural College on the outskirts of Dumfries, and offers an opportunity to work as part of a friendly, hard-working team across all areas of the offer. We provide catering at the on-site restaurant, a barista coffee bar, evening meals for resident students amongst other things, and are looking for happy, hard working people to join our BaxterStorey family.

What would we like from our General Assistant?

• Customer Service experience
• Strong communication skills
• Numerate, counting cash may be required
• Good organisation skills
• Reliable and able to work well within a team

General Assistant requirements:

• Assist in the preparation of food and snacks.
• Keep the kitchen and restaurant areas in a clean and tidy state at all times.
• Provide a friendly, efficient and hygienic service to all customers.
• Ensure that customers are given a prompt and efficient service
• Be customer focused at all times, by being visible during service periods, approachable and quick to exceed expectations in fulfilling customer needs.
• Project a willing and helpful attitude to customers
• Seek the appropriate knowledge of food items sold throughout catering areas
• Keep areas and service counters clean and fully stocked
