Position is responsible for providing support and/or assistance to assigned areas of Manufacturing.  Responsibilities include a variety of duties which provide press operator helper functions, packing and labeling product.  

ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES:

1. Obtains returns and stocks supplies for assigned production area.  As required requisitions supplies and make internal department deliveries.  Maintains and ensures appropriate inventory levels of production supplies; i.e. shop towels, skids, cores, paper, tape, etc.  Performs and/or assists with inventory counts.

2. Utilizes a hand-lift truck to transport raw or finished stock.

3. Maintains a clean and safe working area; sweeps floors, ensures all unused stock is returned to appropriate storage area and rejected material to lab area.

4. Packs tickets, tags and labels per verbal or handwritten instructions.

5. Using a hand held labeler or other marking device, marks cartons, cases, etc. with appropriate data.

6. As required, performs measurement/gauging or other quality checks on finished production or supplies.

7. As required, make production copies for press operators.

8. As a member of a production support team; trains, assists and supports other team members in problem solving and meeting department goals.  Continuously reviews current processes and searches out improvement methods to improve product/process quality, reduce waste, rework, and unnecessary work that adds no value to the work or process.

9. Performs general housekeeping tasks and waste removal within department/group and assists other areas as required.

10. Based on business need, assists/supports in other job functions within material handling process or other company processes within scope and ability.

Qualifications

1. High school graduate or equivalent.  

2. Must be able to follow verbal and written instructions.  Ability to follow special instructions and directions.

3. Must be able to use basic math calculations.

4. Must be able to count and use various measurement devices.

5. Must be able to continuously stand, stoop, bend, reach, pull and push.

6. Must be able to frequently lift up to 50 lbs. and occasionally up to 100 lbs. with mechanical assistance or the help of another employee.

7. Must be able to tolerate contact with various solvents and inks.

8. Must be able to tolerate paper dust and function in a continuously noisy environment.

9. Must be safety conscious and alert to safety hazards.
