Job Summary:

We Are...

Disney General Entertainment Content (DGE) — the television production arm of The Walt Disney Company — is searching for a motivated television enthusiast who is interested in using data to tell stories. You will be part of a team that provides insights using data and analytics to help drive DGE executives’ decision making. A distinguishing characteristic of the internship is the ability to work hands-on with real data and relay that information to all departments across DGE and several within the larger Walt Disney Company. You will be guided by a team dedicated to ensuring you are properly taught, have the required access and software/tools, and gain the experience necessary to pursue a future career in data and analytics in the TV industry.

Responsibilities:

Make an Impact by...

  • Gaining hands-on experience reporting on key TV industry trends and program viewership
  • Expanding your Excel skills
  • Growing your database and SQL skills
  • Assisting in improving data warehousing processes
  • Learning Nielsen and other software and business intelligence tools to report on program performance
  • Discussing the changing TV landscape with experienced industry professionals

Basic Qualifications:

What You Bring to the Role...

  • Proficiency with Excel, including lookups, arrays, pivot tables, and conditional formulas
  • Proficiency with PowerPoint and Outlook
  • Proficiency in algebra and statistics
  • Some experience or knowledge of SQL and cloud-based data warehouses and ETL processes
  • Excellent communication skills (verbal and written)
  • Extraordinarily organized and detail oriented
  • Analytical and problem-solving skills

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Certifications or demonstrated proficiency in: Excel VBA, SQL, Python, R
  • Experience working with large files/datasets
  • Experience with Snowflake
  • Experience with Tableau and Adobe Analytics
  • Knowledge of digital and linear video measurement and machine learning a plus

Required Education

  • Working toward a Bachelor’s degree in a technologically/mathematically intensive discipline (e.g. statistics, business analytics, data science, mathematics, computer science, engineering, economics, information systems).

Additional Information:

Internship Eligibility:

  • Must be enrolled in an accredited college/university taking at least one class in the semester/quarter (spring/fall) prior to participation in the internship program OR must have graduated from a college/university within 6 months OR currently participating in a Disney College Program or Disney Professional Internship
  • Must be at least 18 years of age
  • Must not have completed one year of continual employment on a Disney internship or program.
  • Must possess unrestricted work authorization
  • Approximate dates of Internship are June 2022 - January 2023
  • Must provide full work availability (40 hours per week; PST)
  • All candidates must be able to have a consistent, reliable work schedule throughout the session
