Responsible for leading the organization to establish ISO-26262 development process for the development of electric powertrain components. Key interface between hardware, software, mechanical and quality teams to ensure functional safety requirements and work products are developed according to ISO standard and customer specific requirements. As a functional safety manager must provide internal coaching and training of development team to establish a safety first thinking for development of functional safety electrified powertrain components.
Job Responsibilities:
•Lead the establishment of internal process for ISO-26262
•Manage and track work-products pertaining to DIA’s, HARA, FSR and TSR development for electric powertrain components with suppliers and customers
•Work with suppliers and internal partners to specify functional safety requirements for purchased components part of the electrified powertrain
•Develop requirements and collaborate with hardware/software suppliers to meet ISO-26262 functional safety requirements and technical safety requirements as required for target ASIL of the electrified drivetrains system
•Responsible for the project management of work product development, deliverables and assessment to achieve ISO-26262 compliance
•Support the tracking of DFMEA, FTA, DVP&R and other supporting development work-products to meet ISO-26262 compliance for electrified drivetrain
•Interface with customers to develop and negotiate HARA and safety goals for the electrified powertrain components
•Document and track issues, maintain the life cycle of the ISO-26262 development process
•Guide and coach development team members for designing safety critical applications
•Develop FIT analysis and fault perform metric calculations for the complete electrified powertrain system
•Support quality team to address safety concerns related to suppliers, and other stakeholders during the development and production phases of the electrified powertrain
QUALIFICATIONS
Required Qualifications
• Masters of Science in Electrical engineering, Computer Science, or related field
• 7+ years of experience software or electronic system development, preferably in automotive
• Experience analyzing SW failures modes related to development tools like Matlab/Simulink, c-code generation for controls software development of real-time systems
• Experience analyzing and interpreting HW failures for different Microcontroller, ASIC, etc.
• Experience in project management with multiple stakeholders
• ISO-26262 certification required
• Proven background in functional safety management
Preferred Qualifications
• Certified Functional Safety Engineer by TuvNord or equivalent
• Experience designing HV systems and electrified powertrain development
• In-depth understanding of inverter and failure modes pertaining to HV systems
• Experience designing torque security algorithm for electric motor control or supervisory vehicle
