Position Overview:
The main role of this position will be to focus on assessing and treating work-related injuries/illnesses within Boston Whaler Medical Directives and to maintain accurate records and charting of all medical encounters between employees and the Occupational Health Staff. This position is for day shift primarily supporting manufacturing and distribution operations on the Boston Whaler Flagler Campus. The position reports to the Director, Environmental Health, and Safety. Hours will be Monday – Thursday 7 am – 4 pm, Friday 7am – 12 pm.

Essential Functions:
- Assess and treat work-related injuries within Boston Whaler Medical Directives.
- Provide emergency care for occupational and non-occupational illnesses within Boston Whaler Medical Directives.
- Maintain accurate records in OHS charting of all medical encounters between Boston Whaler employees and Occupational Health Staff.
- Generate initial incident investigation reporting and communicate to management.
- Conduct urine drug screens and breathe alcohol testing per Boston Whaler directives, standards, and protocols.
- Conduct Audiometric testing for employees based on Boston Whaler’s hearing conservation program.
- Provide guidance/training to employees for wearing necessary respiratory protection.
- Conducts respirator fit testing and Spirometry based on Boston Whalers Respiratory Protection Program
- Assist in providing First Aid/AED/CPR and BBP training to employees on the emergency response teams.
- Make routine rounds in the plant to check on employees as needed and to perform safety inspections.
- Inspect and maintain emergency response equipment and medical supplies.
- Create files for new employees in OHM system.
- Works with medical providers to facilitate early return to work for employees injured and sent for outside medical care.
- Provides information to management regarding physical capacity of employee capabilities associated with work restrictions received from external medical providers.
- Maintain patient confidentiality as appropriate and in accordance with HIPPA.
- Other duties as assigned.

Required Qualifications:
- Current active LPN/RN Florida license
- A minimum of 5+ years of clinical healthcare experience in a medical setting, medical clinic, occupational health, ER or urgent care.
- Certification in BLS
- Able to work additional hours as needed to ensure coverage for adjoining shifts.
- Strong computer skills with Microsoft Office Suite required with emphasis on Outlook, Word, Excel and PowerPoint.
- Strong administrative experience required with ability to work in an office setting processing paperwork and utilizing multiple tracking systems.
- Excellent written and oral communication skills
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience with Occupational Health, Urgent Care, ER, Internal or Family Medicine is preferred.
- CPR certified trainer
- Knowledge of Worker Compensation

- Shop floor working environment.
- Shop floor is non-climate controlled. Temperature fluctuates with outside environmental conditions, such as air temperature, radiant heat from sunlight, air movement, and humidity levels.
- Frequent exposure to high temperatures, including a hot and humid environment, especially during summer months.
- Noise level is moderate with intervals of spikes
- Required to wear safety glasses, hearing protection, and utilize other safety equipment and personal protect equipment (PPE) while present on the production/shop floor.
- Frequent exposure to moving mechanical parts, resins, fiberglass dust & cloths, epoxy, composites, and other chemicals.
- Ability to walk or stand for extended periods of times.
- Ability to regularly bend, stoop, kneel, twist, crouch, reach, climb, and lift or move up to 35 pounds.
- Vision abilities required include close vision, peripheral vision, and depth perception.
