The Role

The Managed Solutions Product Area is looking for a customer-centric leader to head the Fixed Income Separately Managed Account (SMA) offering who will lead a team of product managers focused on growing and retaining our Fixed Income SMA business.

The Expertise and Skills You Bring

As a Product Team Leader you will:

  • Identify and drive initiatives aimed at growing fixed income SMA assets and accounts, helping the Managed Solutions Product Area achieve its sales, retention and customer penetration goals
  • Serve as a visible and experienced leader and highly productive member of the Managed Solutions Extended Leadership Team, defining and executing the vision for the work of your team
  • Collaborate with distribution teams to collect voice of client & associate, including feedback on existing products & experiences, as well as future opportunities.
  • Drive product development efforts, including business case development, business requirements, end-to-end customer experience, and go-to-market implementation.  
  • Work with marketing and client development teams to craft client-facing & advisor facing marketing and sales collateral
  • Identify areas to gain competitive advantage in the marketplace, and identify strategic work for the team to address the Managed Solutions Product Area’s points of competitive weakness, or enhance the existing strengths in the marketplace
  • Drive thought leadership and lead the team in solution brainstorming and help create an environment of continual innovation. Understanding of industry trends and dynamics.
  • Provide a voice at the table with senior leaders to discuss, debate, challenge, and influence key strategic decisions.
  • Impact and influence senior management in key decisions that would drive Fidelity’s strategic advantage in the Managed Solutions space, especially as it relates to Fixed Income SMAs
  • Work with our business partners to create optimal associate and client experiences that address the needs and pain points of our fixed income SMA clients
  • Serve as primary point of contact for designated category/asset class of SMA products; you will advocate for — and incrementally improve — your existing product line
     

Skills & Experience:

  • Demonstrated ability to lead teams focused on delivering customer value and business results
  • 10+ years of financial services experience, preferably in product management, product development and/or product strategy roles; 15 years of overall work experience
  • Strong knowledge of Fixed Income investments, markets, instruments and solutions;
  • Experience with managed accounts is strongly preferred; MBA, CFA and/or CFP designation a plus
  • Product Management expertise – deep understanding all aspects of a given product line (sales trends, customer profile, competitive landscape, product economics, distribution dynamics, performance and risk characteristics for each product, operational risks)
  • Cross-functional leadership and outstanding collaboration skills to navigate a matrixed environment with a range of priorities and perspectives across investment teams, distribution leaders, legal, risk, and compliance
  • Influencing skills required along with confirmed ability to successfully engage with all levels of management across many areas.

  • Consistent record of working with uncertainty in building and delivering a fast-growing business with multiple priorities, achieve breakthroughs, and consistently deliver business results
  • Knowledge of delivery channels and experience taking new products/solutions to market
  • Understanding of digital solutions and passion for leveraging digital whenever appropriate to drive customer ease of use and early loyalty
  • Synthesizing complex data from multiple, disparate sources and present relevant insights and themes in a simple/clear way
  • FINRA Series 7 license required
  • FINRA Series 24 license preferred but may be obtained within one year of hire
