Job Description
The V2X Leader provides leadership in formulation and implementation of product line strategy, marketing plans and growth programs, and new product development / customer value propositions to enhance sales and profitability growth for the Connected Solutions product line. The product leader leads all aspects of VOC (voice of customer), administering the process and implementing collection for the product line. This role drives and completes all marketing activities and documents required for Pro-Launch New Product Development projects.
The V2X Leader works closely with the global engineering and product management teams and will have excellent knowledge of the key decision makers (DER Integrators, Contractors, End users, vehicle OEM’s, Utilities) in core and emerging vertical market segments and a thorough understanding of the dynamics of selling new and emerging technologies.
Notably, this individual will lead the strategy and execution of Eaton’s North American V2X strategy and will lead and collaborate globally with engineering center of excellences, Vehicle OEM’s and system integrators to develop solution offerings for this emerging market.
Essential functions include:
- Lead the strategic planning and product road mapping for V2X, including cross-divisional alignment with the engineering, finance and operations functions to deliver a cohesive playbook to sales and comprehensive solution to customers.
- Achieve strategic and financial objectives for the product line to meet revenue and margin goals
- Collaborate closely with engineering on new product development
- Track relevant market trends and the evolving competitive landscape while maintaining a comprehensive understanding of V2X product applications and relevant standards
- Provide strategic marketing direction for new product development of V2X solutions that is informed by voice of the customer (VOC) and competitors’ positioning in order to execute product launches for the North American market
- Collaborate and partner with other product lines and/or companies/firms to create bundled hardware & software portfolio solutions that deliver on synergies for our targeted customer segments
- Provide leadership and drive results for global alignment around product development, marketing initiatives, regional requirements, and segment-specific execution
- Take hands on ownership of platform management functions in the early days as the strategy is built and the team is growing
- Be a voice of the customer and set appropriate expectations, goal weightings and targets with other Eaton divisions and sales/channel organizations
- Provide effective sales enablement that incorporates V2X into existing product configurator (Bid Manager) and expands selling capabilities to new methods to such as techno-economic tools.
- Serve as the product line spokesperson in key customer interactions, business development opportunities, and negotiations with customers
- Work closely with channel, major accounts, global product line teams, and segment managers and ensure alignment and leverage their collective expertise on the way to bring the product line to market
- Communicate and present strategy and progress against financial results and forecasts to Senior Leadership and other key stakeholders
- Collaborate with Connected Solutions PLM to develop, deploy and execute a holistic pricing strategy that meets revenue, share and profitability targets
- Work with Marketing Communications to support product promotion of the V2X charging product line including traditional promotional materials as well as on-line and multimedia assets.
Qualifications
Required (Basic) Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited institution
- Minimum seven (7) years’ experience in technical marketing, sales, strategic planning, operations and/or product management
- Minimum two (2) years’ experience working in Electric Vehicle Charging and/or V2X experience working with Utilities, power management companies or EV OEMs
- Minimum two (2) years’ experience managing a cross functional team
- Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without company sponsorship both now and in the future
Preferred Qualifications:
- Master’s Degree in Business Administration from an accredited institution
- 5 years of experience in market analysis, product launches, and budget management
- 5 years of experience in providing sales/field support and customer/industry presentations
- Experience working in the electric vehicle charging market such as product management, strategic marketing/partnerships, sales or product engineering
- Experience in customer value creation and value-based pricing methodology
- Knowledge of UL product certification process
- Good understanding of emerging standard around Vehicle Grid Integration, Vehicle charging standards, and relevant NEC standards
- Experience working with backup power generation in the home or commercial buildings
- Experience with residential sales channel including distributors and home builders
- Experience working with or developing vehicle charging or V2X technologies with Electric Utilities, Vehicle OEMs or Electrical / DER OEMs.
- Experience working with power electronics, standby power systems, or stationary energy storage a plus.
Position Criteria:

- Excellent quantitative analysis skills, especially developing business opportunity cases
- Ability to collaborate with international businesses, partners, & customers
- Demonstrated understanding of the Eaton marketing competencies
- Demonstrated understanding of ProLaunch process
- Understanding of manufacturing / operations including financial impact to product line performance.
