The Role
Fidelity Institutional (FI) is looking for Squad Leader, Portfolio Construction Tools & Analytics to join Fidelity Institutional Wealth Adviser (FIWA) who will be accountable for implementing the development and maintenance of analytical tools used in the portfolio construction process. These tools will be used by not only members of the FIWA Investment team but also partners across FI in discussions with external clients. They will include platforms for research, risk modeling, and optimization and include oversight of a data environment that enables those platforms; as such, the Squad Leader will bring experience leading technology initiatives combined with expertise in portfolio construction. Ultimately, you will empower and guide a team of technologists that enables the FIWA investment team and improves the delivery of portfolio construction guidance to clients.
A successful candidate will:
Own the end-to-end management of driving a roadmap, aligning priorities, conveying vision, and articulating an end-state experience for portfolio construction applications
Deliver on Squad Leader responsibilities such as translating business objectives into strategy and approach, prioritizing backlogs and sprints, defining the business process and KPIs, and owning vendor relationships
Assist with the development and oversight of a robust portfolio construction data environment and platform for use both internally and externally
Collaborating and coordinating with developers, engineers, and UX designers and enabling squad member growth, development, and learning
Collaborate across the organization to ensure tools meet the needs of external clients and engagements with those clients
Ensure the platform enables the scalable development and management of multi-asset class, open architecture model portfolios
Work partners and peers to determine the appropriate analytical engines (e.g., risk models, optimizers) for use on the platform
Collaborate with members of the research team to build a manager research environment that seamlessly combines fund data (e.g., holdings, exposures, performance, alternative-specific strategies) with note publication tools
Streamline existing tools
Ensure robust data quality checks are in place to enable the use of all tools

Proven leadership skills and experience inspiring others
Extensive experience acting as a product owner across multiple and different product lifecycles
Highly effective interpersonal and teamwork skills that enable the cultivation of relationships across investment, technology, distribution, and other teams across Fidelity
Excellent oral and written communication skills
Ability to think strategically and work with colleagues across Fidelity to develop and resource multi-year plans
Expertise with portfolio construction techniques, demonstrating knowledge of different risk model and optimization approaches
Continuously improve and encourage an agile way of working
