Key Responsibilities:

• Safely direct technical team using established safe working permits in accordance with Mars policy.  Observe all OSHA and Mars safety rules and use the proper safety equipment at all times. Notify supervisor of potentially dangerous hazards and take immediate corrective action. 
• Lead food safety risk assessments for on-shift work that have potential impact on quality and food safety
• Ability to work with minimal supervision and to take direction from multiple sources
• Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal for working with operations and technical team members
• Excellent coaching and training skills to facilitate transfer of knowledge between all team members
• Responsible for the maintenance and troubleshooting of electrical equipment such as; 480V electrical power, instrumentation, motor controls, VFD’s, Servo’s, I/O devices/modules, PLC’s and HMI’s.
• Provide technical leadership to assist team in troubleshooting machine breakdowns and malfunctions
• Train and assist technicians to troubleshoot, repair, replace and calibrate all electrical sensing devices and instrumentation, including:  Photoelectric, inductive, capacitive, pressure, temperature, weight, position sensors, flow, and analytical instruments.
• Expected responsibility breakdown: 20% Development of team, 30% Administration (BDAs, call offs, accountability feedback, CP2, other), 50% Breakdown support
• Manage and support factory utilities infrastructure including air compressors, boilers, chillers, including implementing upgrades and other vendor updates
• Coordinate maintenance work orders by team members and follow up to ensure completion and effectiveness of each task
• Initiate Breakdown Analyses for equipment failures of two hours or more
• Support the introduction to the plant of new equipment and technologies
• Direct the work activities of outside contractors as required on shift
• Effectively communicate with peers, supervisors, and upper management on a daily basis, and be willing to provide support where needed and complete other duties as assigned by Manager
• Maintains a clean and orderly work area in accordance to site 5S and clean design standards

• Work closely with Reliability Managers to build associate development plans and expand individual technical capability.  This includes being able to provide constructive feedback to associates.
• Be the single point of contact for all Technical issues on shift and act as technical resource to operations.  Assist operations and maintenance associates to meet daily priorities, coverage, and special projects. 

Education and experience requirements:

High school diploma (or GED equivalent) coupled with 3 to 5+ years of maintenance related experience at a minimum OR an Associate of Applied Science in electrical / mechanical study preferred coupled with 2+ years of experience in a comparable technical position, inclusive of internships/co-ops

A minimum of five (5) years of experience in maintaining and troubleshooting process and packaging systems in a manufacturing environment or three (3) years as a Mars technical associate having exceeds or higher performance evaluations
