What do we do?

We work on projects ranging from introducing new market data sources into the Ticker Plant, to architectural modernization, to workflow and process automation.

We are constantly investing in business logic processing times reduction and structural improvements of the system’s internals, its APIs and data representation. All to provide greater flexibility and reduce features time to market without sacrificing real time performance.

In the area of workflow automation, we are shifting towards an API-first approach to Ticker Plant’s configuration services, redefining them in terms of programmatic APIs as a next step towards greater automation and efficiency.

For SDLC, we are investing in building a CI/CD pipeline, backed up by fully automated test execution.

Due to the importance of the Ticker Plant to Bloomberg’s business, all of the above efforts have profound impact across Bloomberg Market Data products offerings, thus directly contributing to the company’s bottom line!

Our technologies:

We work primarily in C++ and Python, using a variety of open source and bespoke software packages. We are open to applicants without prior experience in these languages, who possess solid software engineering background in similar technologies.

You’ll need to have:

• 4+ years working with an object-oriented programming language (C/C++, Python, Java, etc.)
• A Degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, similar field of study or equivalent work experience
• An understanding of Computer Science fundamentals such as data structures and algorithms
• Prior contributions to system design and architecture and scaling fault-tolerant, distributed systems
• Honest approach to problem-solving, and ability to collaborate with peers, partners and management
