Position Overview:
Lead Quality Engineering representative on all new product introduction programs (NPI). Functionally responsible for designing, developing, coordinating, and deploying work instructions/procedures and associated process controls for the site. Develops process improvements and cost control programs within the quality function. Reviews customer/industry/internal specifications to ensure compliance with stated requirements. Provides technical support to operations, customers, and suppliers. Leads formal problem solving for internal and external customers. Provides quality training/mentoring to the site.
Essential Responsibilities:
- Define, specify, and implement quality standards and procedures for manufacturing processes.
- Lead and/or provide technical advice and counsel to cross-functional teams assigned to product development and problem solving.
- Lead the development of pFMEAs and Control Plans per AIAG standard.
- Process expert in MSA and process capability studies for key and significant characteristics.
- Support processes including Non-Conformance resolution, process verification and PPAP/FAIR/Source Inspection activity.
- Assures that product shipped meets internal and external customer requirements.
- Process expert in problem solving, corrective actions using 8D, 5 Why, and lean tools.
- Lead customer and third-party audits.
- Provide technical expertise to both internal and external customers and suppliers.
- Formulate and implement quality assurance procedures, policies, and standards. Ensure these documents align with the recognized Aerospace Quality System Standard as well as Eaton Objectives, Policies and Procedures.
- Acts as an organizational contact for customer concerns and ensure appropriate corrective actions are deployed as necessary.
- Monitor/manage new program metrics and facilitates efforts to drive continual improvement.
- Execute on customer, operations, or new program deliverables in accordance with APQP best practices.
- Learn and develop a strong understanding of Eaton Quality System, AS9100, FAA, IPC Standard & welding standards, Core Tools and customer specific requirements
- Provide input on new product design through utilizing blueprint reading and GD&T skills
- Completes Sr. Quality Engineering assignments with minimal supervision.
Qualifications
Basic Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or a related field from accredited institution.
- Minimum 2 years’ experience in a manufacturing environment and within the Quality function.
- This position requires use of information or access to hardware which is subject to the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR). All applicants must be U.S. persons within the meaning of ITAR. ITAR defines a U.S. person as a U.S. citizen, U.S. Permanent Resident (i.e. Green Card Holder'), Political Asylee, or Refugee.
Preferred Qualifications:
- 3 years of progressive experience in Aerospace industry
- Experience in performing Quality Audits is preferred.
- Useable skills with MS Office software are preferred.
- Knowledge of assembly operations, gauging, and quality assurance systems (ISO 9001, AS9100).
- ASQ Certified Quality Engineer (CQE) or Manager of Quality/Organizational Excellence (MOQ/OE) is preferred.
- Knowledge of standard manufacturing processes including acceptance testing, assembly operations, molding, machining, welding, and measurement systems in an Aerospace environment
