Job Description

Senior Manager - Transformation, Customer and Sustainability Assurance

Salary – National – circa £80,000, London – circa £100,000

Do you have a thirst for learning, good organisation skills and strong capability to communicate and influence? Are you inquisitive, unafraid to call out the elephant in the room and have a desire to make things better?  If so, this role might be for you!  The Transformation, Customer and Sustainability team within Internal Audit is growing at pace, with an exciting challenge to help Aviva transform performance and execute the Group’s strategy.

We are currently seeking a Senior Audit Manager to join our Team in either our London, Bristol, Norwich or York offices, including flexible working from home patterns.

Working in an agile team of subject matter experts, you will contribute to the assurance assessment of the Groups change and transformation efforts, including initiatives that deliver against our Customer and Sustainability ambition, to help ensure Aviva can safely deliver against strategic goals. You will ensure success by understanding how the work is being planned and executed, assess for any gaps that limit effectiveness and make recommendations for improvement.

A bit about us and the job:

In Internal Audit we focus on what matters, to make things better for Aviva. We continuously refine our knowledge and understanding of the risks that matter; those which affect our business and customers. We couple this knowledge and judgement with strong collaborative relationships to inform our audit assignments, enabling us to influence management and motivate change for the better.

As a Senior Audit Manager, you will play a key role in influencing the risk and control agenda, through:

  • developing business, strategy and risk knowledge - both your own and that of the wider team

  • building effective relationships with business and operational teams across Aviva

  • working collaboratively with colleagues to plan, project manage and report audit assurance assignments across a range of important risks and business areas

  • Lead senior stakeholder discussions to communicate our assurance work and influence for change.

You will also be able to contribute to the wider success of the Internal Audit function through our transformation and continuous improvement projects.

Internal Audit at Aviva continues to transform, and we are recruiting extraordinary people to help us deliver our goals and who have the ambition to grow and develop as future business leaders in Aviva.  We will invest in your personal development and professional growth, giving you the opportunity to make the most of your talents and shape your longer-term career both within Internal Audit and more widely across Aviva.

Skills and experience we’re looking for:

Previous experience in Internal or External audit, or equivalent experience in a similar risk and control role, is preferred, but not essential.  Experience of working in an insurance or relevant financial services function, audit firm or UK regulator would also be beneficial, but is not critical.  We are looking for candidates who get excited about:

  • learning how the business works

  • performing a variety of challenging and rewarding work

  • engaging with senior management

  • influencing and make a difference

If you like the sound of this but are unsure what life in audit is really like and how you might fit in, please reach out to discuss…you will be surprised of the rewarding career audit can offer!

What you’ll get for this role:

  • Starting National salary circa £80,000, starting London salary circa £100,000 (depending on location, skills, experience, and qualifications)

  • Aviva will contribute up to 14% to your personal pension (dependent on your contribution)

  • Eligibility for annual performance bonus

  • Family friendly parental and carer’s leave

  • 29 days holiday per year plus bank holidays and the option to buy/sell up to 5 additional days

  • Up to 40% discount for Aviva products

  • Brilliant flexible benefits including electric cars

  • Aviva Matching Share Plan and Save As You Earn scheme

  • 21 volunteering hours per year
