Job Description

The Senior Engineering position provides the successful candidate with an immediate opportunity to be involved with a company the manufactures life altering medical devices.  Medline is a fast paced medical company with a large global footprint that offers fantastic growth opportunities for its employees. As a division of Medline, the Namic site manufactures fluid delivery devices for Angiographic and Cardiatric procedures as well as a vast array of custom kits. As part of the Engineering department, you will be part of team of approximately 30, consisting of Technicians and Engineers assigned to different areas of operations. The Engineering team works in close collaboration with the Quality, Planning, and Sourcing departments to stay aligned with the most critical needs of the business.

The Senior Engineering position will plan, organize and control productivity projects from conceptual stages through production cycles in order to optimize profit and meet marketing, financial, and corporate growth objectives. Investigate current operations practices to scope, develop and implement changes that will improve operational productivity, safety, quality, or capacity.

 

CORE RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Support ways to increase operational productivity for injection molding and related processes in a high volume molding facility.
  • Provide technical support for injection mold design and procurement.
  • Prepare, perform and conduct validation protocols and reports for new or existing molding processes.  Ensure that new products meet the strict quality and performance standards set by the division (i.e. burst testing & tensile tests).
  • Perform complex assignments to develop new and/or enhance existing procedures, statistical analysis, inspections, and validation activities. Contribute to the organization's process improvement activities.
  • Lead and/or support Structured Problem Solving to remedy issues in production that are impacting critical business metrics.
  • Analyze costs related to capital expenditures for injection molds and molding processes to determine breakeven points, payback and associated hard and soft savings.
  • Conduct training, when appropriate, on quality assurance and/or engineering concepts and tools, including but not limited to inspection, measurement, test methods, and comprehensive equipment operation procedures.
  • Subject matter expert associated with content, processes, and procedures. Apply functional knowledge to the design and customization of workflow systems that provide seamless integration. Write functional requirements, develop test plans and work with production issues.
  • Provide specialized expertise to the company through project, account and people management.
  • Establishes and assures adherence to budgets, schedules, work plans, and project performance.
