Job Description
Overview:
The Scheduling Technician performs various functions in making sure that production lines are properly organized/scheduled at all times, so as to cut down production costs and efficiently utilize available raw materials and ensure on-time delivery of products
Job Responsibilities:
- Carry out planning and coordination of production schedules
- Monitor schedules and workflow to ensure that deliveries are made in a timely manner
- Coordinate and develop production plans with the company’s management team
- Create efficient scheduling processes or methods so as to attain production goals
- Place orders (Where applicable) for production materials so as to avoid shortage in inventory
- Generate production reports that are meant to be used for important (production) decisions
- Solve problems that have to do with material shortage in a timely manner
- Handle all production issues in a way that it doesn’t hinder production and delivery
- May perform other duties as assigned

Qualifications:
- High school diploma with a minimum of 2 years working experience in a similar position
- Familiar with Meritor Plainfield products and operational processes a preferred.
- Excellent communication skills on all fronts (listening and speaking)
- Must possess good interpersonal skills to be able to get along well with other workers (cohesion)
- Must have good customer care skills
- Must have good time management abilities
- Willingness to work as part of a team for the overall good of the department
- Must be willing to cross train on multiple functions within the materials organization.
- Ability to multitask if need be and display flexibility while carrying out duties
- Must have good computer skills and be proficient with AS400, Outlook and Excel including tracking information, assembling reports and communicating data that helps meet scheduling requirements
- Strong analytical and organizational skills
