Job Description

Overview:
The Scheduling Technician performs various functions in making sure that production lines are properly organized/scheduled at all times, so as to cut down production costs and efficiently utilize available raw materials and ensure on-time delivery of products

Job Responsibilities:

  • Carry out planning and coordination of production schedules
  • Monitor schedules and workflow to ensure that deliveries are made in a timely manner
  • Coordinate and develop production plans with the company’s management team
  • Create efficient scheduling processes or methods so as to attain production goals
  • Place orders (Where applicable) for production materials so as to avoid shortage in inventory
  • Generate production reports that are meant to be used for important (production) decisions
  • Solve problems that have to do with material shortage in a timely manner
  • Handle all production issues in a way that it doesn’t hinder production and delivery
  • May perform other duties as assigned

Job Requirements:

QUALIFICATIONS

Qualifications:

  • High school diploma with a minimum of 2 years working experience in a similar position
  • Familiar with Meritor Plainfield products and operational processes a preferred.
  • Excellent communication skills on all fronts (listening and speaking)
  • Must possess good interpersonal skills to be able to get along well with other workers (cohesion)
  • Must have good customer care skills
  • Must have good time management abilities
  • Willingness to work as part of a team for the overall good of the department
  • Must be willing to cross train on multiple functions within the materials organization.
  • Ability to multitask if need be and display flexibility while carrying out duties
  • Must have good computer skills and be proficient with AS400, Outlook and Excel including tracking information, assembling reports and communicating data that helps meet scheduling requirements
  • Strong analytical and organizational skills
