The Reliability Engineer, North America will be a key member of the Reliability Center of Excellence. In this position the ideal candidate will work closely with plant reliability, maintenance and operating teams across our locations in the Mexico, US & Canada. You will provide predictive and preventative maintenance support, failure analysis, root cause determination and execution of continuous improvement strategies across the network of facilities using accepted best practices. Responsible for facilitating development of equipment strategies, analyzing data, and utilizing risk-based work selection principles to drive longer term business improvements and ensure these are incorporated into the Reliability Excellence (RE) program. Improve our manufacturing network’s reliability with the improvement and implementation of the RE program, systems, and procedures is paramount, as such you will be responsible to develop, plan and implement activities to increase equipment efficiency and reliability to positively impact operations and reduce maintenance costs.

Core Responsibilities:
Build strong positive relationships with diverse groups through day-to-day reliability plant support with a continuous focus on safe, reliable and efficient operations. Act as single point contact, providing technical direction for multi-functional teams at manufacturing sites and at a corporate level
Provide technical leadership, expertise, and advice in support of facility operations with the goal of optimizing facility reliability through the application of PM and PdM programs
Recommend maintenance/operating technologies and methodologies that improve the RE program and reliability
Work with primary teams to identify, evaluate and implement design changes, asset strategies revisions and operating/maintenance procedure updates, while monitoring technical knowledge
Promote a proactive approach to minimize/eliminate failures by acquiring and analyzing failure data and predicting asset reliability with a goal to reduce maintenance related production losses
Lead efforts for plant loss mapping based on value stream mapping (details individual equipment processing rates and constraints)
Work with Maintenance, Operations, and Engineering teams facilities to promote Global Root Cause template and triggers, in order develop the solution and then support the implementation
Propose changes to inspect equipment and facilities through the PM Optimizing tool. Apply FMEA as well in completing risk assessments
Evaluate the performance reports as part of asset management and monitor the main indicators of maintenance and reliability. Work with local Reliability Engineers to analyze loss data to identify underperforming assets
Develop Equipment Strategy plans that may be plant specific or across all facilities, with the purpose of growing reliability and availability
Collaborate with Engineering and Maintenance team, providing technical guidance and support for new equipment commissioning
Provide your expertise in making key decisions with respect to technology and actively participate in all aspects of our RE program, maintenance and asset health across the region
Lead the development of technical standards database and champion the use of those standards as part of precision maintenance being executed by plant maintenance teams
Build and publish weekly and monthly reports commenting on the overall trends and progress of the asset activities
Ensure compliance to internal and external policies, procedures and regulations and to assist external auditors such as insurance companies, and/or other groups as required.
Responsible for repository of equipment life cycle cost data from design for reliability phase through decommissioning
Member of internal assessment team and responsible for executing specific functional (lubrication, vibration, condition monitoring, etc.) program audits
The Reliability Engineer position is well-suited for you if you:
Completed technical training and certifications MLT2, CAT II, Level 1 Ultrasound
Problem solve and analyze with a focus on facilitating RCA process
Are knowledgeable in of CMMS (SAP PM, Prometheus, Lube-IT), MS Excel, Vibration (Emerson Machinery Health Manager), Ultrasonic and Alignment equipment & databases
Previously were exposed to a food operating plant environment (ISO9001, FSSC22000)
Qualified candidates will have:
Certified Reliability Engineer is a strong plus
5 years’ in the reliability and maintenance programs
Extensive experience leading predictive and preventive maintenance programs
Background of successful implementation of reliability improvement initiatives
Experience in Failure Modes and Effects Analysis and its application
Expertise in teamwork and influencing without direct authority
Proven leadership skills, including being a strong communicator
Excellent time management and organizational skills, working with multiple priorities and timelines
Expertise in CA and bad actors management
Expertise in planning and control for maintenance
Knowledge and involvement with maintenance trades/crafts
Ability and availability to travel up 50 – 60%
