Job Description

In this function you will:

  • Manage software development orders to create value and improve the financial position for Eaton and our customers
  • Assist the sales team in project definition, scope of work, and system acceptance test (SAT) criteria definition for new projects
  • Organize and lead internal kickoff meetings with Field Sales, Offer Management, Software Engineering, and Deployment teams for new customer projects
  • Manage projects for new Data Analytics packages spanning voice of customer collection, UI, data management/transfer, cloud architecture, emerging algorithms, and customer feedback
  • Apply project management methodologies and strategies to support both the financial aspects and timeline of assigned projects
  • Review project requirements, contracts, and order specifics during order hand-offs ensuring technical accuracy and mutual alignment
  • Manage technical changes to the scope of work
  • Leverage centralized resources within product management, software engineering, and customer support for the creation of documentation and analytics reporting packages
  • Ensure that accurate information flows to and from customers in a proactive way for an exceptional customer experience
  • Capture and document discrepancies and issues
  • Manage new product development tracking and documentation per Eaton best practices, tools, and gate reviews
  • Meet with lead Solution Architect and Utilities Sales Engineer to analyze and discuss project, including establishing fiscal base line, prior to order entry
  • Conduct kickoff meeting with customer (as necessary)
  • Work with Product Management for requirements and voice of the customer
  • Work with Professional Services for project delivery
  • Work with Software Engineering on custom development projects
  • Resolve any issues with customers pertaining to changes, scheduling, delivery, etc.
  • Drive customer projects to final approval and closure
  • Provide specific lessons learned feedback to the appropriate teams and business leaders

Qualifications

Required (Basic) Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree from an accredited institution.
  • Minimum four (4) years of experience in managing software projects for a global company
  • Must be able to work in the United States without corporate sponsorship now and within the future

Preferred qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in a STEM focus from an accredited institution
  • Possess a PMP certification
  • Experience using Jira for reviewing development progress on required needs
  • Familiarity with Agile development methods and how they are used for development
  • Familiarity with the technical considerations involved with cloud-based software deployments and IoT technologies
  • Excellent judgement, time management and decision-making skills
  • Familiar with emerging industry trends and implications on customers: grid optimization solutions, distribution automation, substation automation, distributed energy resources and energy storage solutions

 

Position Criteria:

  • Ability and willingness to travel up to 30%
  • Proven experience working with stakeholders capturing product requirements and translating to Agile user stories
  • Proven experience delivering software projects with resources located across multiple development teams
  • Excellent judgement, time management and decision-making skills
  • Excellent communication, presentation, interpersonal, and analytical abilities, including the ability to communicate complex concepts clearly across different audiences and at varying levels of the organization
