The Producer will play a key role in leading and supporting the production of a wide variety of internal projects and ad partner-supported campaigns. Working closely with the Director of Production and others, the Producer will interface extensively with internal stakeholders and external partners during the pre-field and post-production phases of campaigns or projects. Excellent communication skills and a hands-on knowledge of all aspect of productions are important in this role.
This role is located in Bristol, CT.
Responsibilities:
• Operates with knowledge and savvy in the creation of both short-form (under: 30) and long-form (:30 – 2:00) scripted and non-scripted content across social, digital and linear platforms.
• Works within the ESPN Creative Studio to develop top line concepts and scripts into high quality and cost-effective productions.
• Understands the visual language of film making with strong writing and communication skills (i.e. articulating a production plan in a concise and clear manner).
• Understands how to effectively communicate across a wide range of ESPN departments, including Sales/Marketing, Legal, Content, Commercial Operations, Facilities, Talent Office, etc.
• Demonstrates leadership across departments and teams to ensure production goals and timelines are met.
• Understands budgeting and resource allocation with experience working on live action productions
• Assists in the bid submission process and hiring of 3rd party production companies.
• Maintains a solid understanding of cinematography, editing and graphics.
• Has strong knowledge of current players, story lines, trends, and schedules with respect to all professional sports leagues and competitions. Research supporting content creation with attention to detail and accuracy is a must.
• A desire to learn about Intellectual Property with respect to what imagery may be legally permissible in ad-supported campaigns.
Basic Qualifications:
• A minimum of 5 years of experience in field and post-production.
• Has experience bringing a story idea from initial creative development to distribution.
• Understands broadcast studio and event production operations at a television network.
• Full schedule availability, which will include nights, weekends, and holidays. 25% of travel, including weekends and holidays.
• A strong desire to be a pioneering force in the growth of an industry-leading, full-service creative team, housed under the most powerful brand in sports.
Preferred Qualifications:
• Broadcast or creative agency experience is a plus but not essential.
