Job Description

Storengy UK has a fantastic opportunity for a Procurement Manager to join our growing business on the Storengy UK Stublach site near Northwich. 

Working as part of the Procurement team, the successful candidate will lead an established procurement team to provide an effective procurement function within the business. The procurement manager will be responsible for the development and implementation of a full range of procurement strategies, policies, and procedures to extract value from the supply chain. 

Your day-to-day responsibilities will include:

  • Developing strong relationships with business stakeholders and strategic supply partners to improve business performance.
  • Identifying areas for improvement to continually drive performance and business results
  • Managing overall direction, coordination, and evaluation of procurement for the organisation.
  • Developing and ensuring adherence to Group and site procurement governance.
  • Negotiating with suppliers and contractors to secure advantageous terms.
  • Building and maintaining long-term relationships with suppliers/contractors, to including supplier/contractor performance (two-way feedback).
  • Approving purchase orders and contracts.
  • Promoting a culture of long-term saving on procurement costs. 

Qualifications, Skills, and Experience:

Essential

  • Bachelor’s degree, or equivalent, in supply chain management, logistics and/or business administration.
  • Minimum of 5 years’ experience in a similar role preferably in the oil, gas/utilities/energy sectors.
  • Proven experience in managing supply chain operations in line with business objectives.
  • Experience with supply chain systems (currently using Maximo and Ariba).
  • In-depth knowledge of preparing and reviewing contracts, invoicing, and negotiation of terms.
  • Contract management experience (knowledge of NEC contract forms).
  • Commercially astute, experienced in developing and implementing procurement policies, procedures, and strategies to achieve best results.
  • Highly organised and detail orientated.
  • Ability to prioritise and work under pressure to meet deadlines in order to achieve results.
  • Excellent analytical and critical thinking skills.
  • Effective communication skills, able to influence and motivate others.

Desirable

  • Member of the Chartered Institute of Purchase and Supply.
