Site support:

• Support the development and maintenance of site level Process Safety Management (PSM) Systems
• Support the implementation of corporate Process Safety Policies and Procedures at the sites
• Serve as the Process Safety resource or consultant for site Process Safety Leadership team(s)
• Provide Process Safety input to enhance the quality of the site's operating procedures (Work Instructions)
• Conduct and support Process Hazards Analysis (PHA) and Layers of Protection Analysis (LOPA) and be a trainer for PHA and LOPA. Support other risk assessments, including facility siting studies
• Provide independent advice to Site Management on all process safety related regulatory requirements to ensure compliance
• Lead and support process safety incidents investigations and process safety near miss investigations by using Root Cause Analysis (RCA)
• Serve as SME for Management of Change (MOC) or Pre-Start-up Safety Review (PSSR) procedures and processes
• Support the sites in managing Process Safety documentation (Relief system, Interlock documentation etc.)
• Provide Process Safety input to Maintenance and Engineering department to enhance Contractor Management
• Advise site Engineering, Maintenance and Operations departments on e.g., Safety Instrumentation Systems (SIS) following relevant standards
• Advise engineering departments on developing of Engineering Standards and designs.
• Support the site's Emergency Response Planning (ERP) programs
• Serve as liaison between sites and the various Process Safety Competency Teams on more advanced Process Safety services

Corporate or regional support:

• Represent the region on corporate Process Safety networks and teams and facilitate regional Process Safety Networks. Share learning from incidents and near misses and share Process Safety related best practices via these networks
• Participate in industry groups such as the European Process Safety Centre or the Center for Chemical Process Safety and share relevant knowledge gained with regional and global networks and teams
• Develop and maintain Process Safety Competency Management systems, including training programs
• Develop and maintain the region's Process Safety Audit program and evaluate/advise on any third-party audit issues related to Process Safety
• Be an expert for advanced process safety hazard analysis, e.g., Quantitative Risks Assessment (QRA), Control of Industrial Accident Hazards (CIMAH), Facility Siting Analysis, Pre-Start-up Safety Review (PSSR) etc.
• Participate in various Process Safety Competency Teams or corporate Process Safety Initiatives 

Qualifications

• Master’s degree in Engineering
• Passion for Process Safety
• Familiar with chemical plant operations
• Strong technical background
• Motivated by technical and analytical work
• Ability to understand and support interpretation of local legislation

• Able to express ideas effectively in both individual and group situations
• Communicates effectively at all levels throughout the organization
• Able to organize and express ideas clearly and effectively in written documents
• Minimum 5 years work experience in a chemical manufacturing environment with basic exposure to Process Safety Management
• Experience a Process Safety role in a SEVESO covered chemical facility
• Enhanced process safety training or knowledge will be preferred (SIS Infrastructure, leading PHA’s, conducting LOPA’s, consequence modeling, facility siting, leading RCA’s, etc.)

Other:

• International travel will be required.
• Applicants must be willing to work at one of Eastman's sites in Europe.
