Overview
This role will identify profit accretive activity through mix management and pricing optimization and implement revenue management best practices. Ability to identify and implement best practices across all channels while working with both internal and supplier stakeholders to implement strategies and track post-action results are key skills for this role.
Primary Responsibilities
- Analyze external price, promo and trade trends (customer, consumer and competitor) and internal financials (e.g., pricing, trade spend) to make recommendations that will profitably drive growth across price, trade, promotions and assortment
- Evaluate list price structure and implement changes to reduce profit leakage and simplify administration
- Conduct specific pricing and promotional analyses by market/channel/brand on pack price curves, brand ladders, and promotional lift/ROI to identify areas of opportunity to drive accretive top and bottom-line growth.
- Perform broad portfolio-level analyses across all channels to provide targeted Pricing & Programming Strategy recommendations to market stakeholders, working with region and state teams in the consolidation and analysis of large data sets.
- Manage tracking models to help monitor adoption of optimized pricing and promotional guardrails/procedures.
- Develop and maintain promotional calendars and lead coordinators with loading and adjusting pricing and programming.
- Assist in building cross-functional Pricing & Programming Strategy capabilities and help educate the organization on the key pillars of optimized performance.
- Lead Pricing and Programming strategy meetings, including discussions on future issues such as performance statistics, and other financial performance goals
Additional Primary Responsibilities
- Set appropriate Revenue Management strategy, including pricing strategy, for all portfolios; ensure alignment with the commercial teams and other key stakeholders.
- Active participant in development of tools to improve capabilities of price planning and measuring the effectiveness of our spend.
- Work with Supplier Revenue Management group on annual operating plan and market adjustments.
- Collaborate with TA California Finance Director to build company internal annual operating plans.
Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree, or five years of combined finance, pricing, revenue management experience.
- Knowledge of federal and state 3-Tier pricing regulations.
- Familiarity with route to market/trade structure and/or CPG category management best practices.
- Knowledge of finance, accounting, budgeting, and revenue management & pricing principles.
