Key Responsibilities
- Lead a large multi-crafted maintenance organization servicing customers across a substantial chemical manufacturing complex with numerous daily competing priorities
- Champion the personnel safety of all employees and process safety through Quality Work Practices
- Strategy development and accountability for departmental goals
- Responsible for the culture and organizational health of respective organization
- Drive a culture of continuous improvement
- A champion of change / enemy of the status quo
- Responsible for building collaborative working relationships with all internal customers and cross functional teams
- Establish priorities and objectives (with input from stakeholder organizations) and communicate results

Educational Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or Business Administration or similar technical field
- MBA Preferred

Essential Qualifications:
- 7 or more years progressive experience in maintenance and/or engineering leadership, with a minimum 5 or more years leading as a 2nd level supervisor or above is required
- Proven competency in driving safety performance improvement and improved safety culture across areas/teams
- Understanding of safe work practices; excellent safety history
- Supervisory skills including safety awareness of staff, budget control, scheduling, and staff development
- Leadership skills including setting goals, priorities, and performance evaluations
- Good motivational skills: ability to influence and manage change; ability to work well with Operations Partners in a team environment
- Demonstrated leadership abilities, including experience leading individuals and teams indirectly
- Proven track record of raising standards each year to drive organizational excellence
- History of improving team performance and work practice through team coaching
- Consistently makes sound and timely judgments in an ambiguous environment
- Good communication skills at all levels of the organization
- Ability to manage multiple projects with varied priorities and drive them to closure

Preferred Qualifications
- Chemical/petrochemical manufacturing environment
- Depth of knowledge in maintenance and manufacturing work processes
- Ownership and successful completion of complex and/or large-scale projects
- Experience facilitating and resolving complex human resources issues
- Situational expertise with administering coaching in all directions
- Capital project experience including generation of scope and estimate; design of items like plant layout and piping; equipment design and procurement; and construction
- Strong technical and problem-solving skill for mechanical design, failure analysis, and maintenance best practices
- Familiarity with mechanical integrity program management
- General understanding of Engineering Standards and Specifications
- Advanced manufacturing knowledge
- Functional use of the corporate computer systems
- Proficiency in using SAP
