•   A wide variety of polymer processing operations and roll coating operations.
•   Working closely with team of technicians who operate the pilot extrusion and SV lines.
•   Quality Control testing of Saflex/SV sheet; data collection; entry and operation of SDC and SAP for raw materials and finished goods; equipment file organization; SAP data collection for the maintenance module.
•   Proper recognition, record keeping and disposal techniques in lab quantity amounts for chemical hazardous waste.Â
•   Mechanical installation and breakdown of various coating lab setups for routine lab processes.
•   Other offline responsibilities will be assigned on an as needed basis.
•   Responsibilities include raw materials transfer, extrusion line setup, startup and control,    sheeting line adjustment, sheet handling, instrumentation setup and calibration, sampling and sample analysis, data collection, other extrusion related duties and run/test report writing. Â
•   Will work safely with others in a team and promote a safe work environment.

•   Associates Degree in a Technical Field or Technical Diploma required.
•   College level course work in math/engineering or mechanical/electrical trade school, a plus.
•   Candidates must be familiar with basic mechanical and electrical principles and safety.
•   Required to be able to read, understand and follow E&I flow diagrams, operating procedures and run plan instructions.
•   Familiarity with thermocouples, pressure transducers, setup and monitoring heaters and thermocouples for melt pipe.
•   Must be able to review blue prints, conduct equipment and safety reviews and support quality improvement projects.
•   Ability to work with machinery in a pilot type atmosphere.Â
•   Ability to work independently and in a team environment.
•   Good communication and technical skills.
•   The ability to work overtime is necessary; and willingness to work second shift is desirable. Â
•   Must be able to lift materials up to 40 lbs and be on one’s feet for ten-hour periods.
•   Will be trained to operate roll lifting equipment to move raw materials and finished goods.
•   Strong commitment to task and ability to organize, prioritize, and execute assignments in a high activity environment.
•   Initiative, drive, and attention to detail.
•   Clear and effective written and oral communication.
•   Demonstrated computer experience with standard software packages (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
