ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS OF THE ROLE:

• Establishes and maintains positive working relationships with vendors and brokers to source non-stock items.  

• Negotiates cost with special order vendors and updates vendor cost in GFS’ cost system.  Implements proper margin of special order(s) in the system.

• Ensures the quality of special order vendor performance.

• Utilizes industry and product knowledge to leverage shipments of products to GFS’ advantage.

• Resolves special order vendor invoice and purchase order discrepancies and approves vendor freight payments.

• Supports GFS special order software initiatives to include providing input regarding software needs and the implementation of changes.

• Maintains special order processing within established guidelines.

• Collaborates with special order vendors to expedite Customer Development Specialist (CDS) rush orders.

• Enters, tracks, and reports special orders to GFS sales force as needed.

• Collaborates with GFS Product Management Team (PMT) to determine potential items to stock.

• Initiates, negotiates and executes the return of drop-ship products to special order vendors.

• Adheres to the mission and cornerstone values and applicable practices of the organization.

• Maintains knowledge of current trends and developments in the field by reading appropriate books, journals and other literature and attending related conferences, seminars, etc.  Maintains peer relationships in the field to share issues and ideas.

• Performs other duties as assigned.

OUR IDEAL CANDIDATE WILL HAVE:

• One year previous food service industry or customer service experience, or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.

• Bachelor’s Degree - Business, Logistics or related (preferred)

• SAP Experience (preferred) 

• Decision making capabilities with an analytical mindset
