Fidelity Institutional seeks a critical thinker who can break down complex and ambiguous finical services industry trends, identify problems and provide data-driven insightful intelligence with a mix of analytical rigor, use of market data research, financial services industry insights, and input from internal and external databases. The Senior Manager, Market & Business Intelligence will demonstrate their strategic thinking and have relevant experience leveraging (primary/secondary, qualitative, and quantitative) across various research methods. This person has proven to be able to thrive in a highly matrix organization working with cross-functional teams to deliver advanced, value-add and insight-driven analytical solutions that provide actionable insights, business solutions, and recommendations.
The Expertise & Skills You Have
- Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics, Statistics, Math, or related field, preferred
- 5+ years' prior work experience within the financial services industry
- Experience in a similar role at a financial services firm, including knowledge of Business Intelligence system/process implementations
- Prior working experience with third-party research tools and industry databases such as Simfund, eVestment, Broadridge
- Prior financial services experience, including a strong understanding of investment concepts and asset classes, as well as distribution within intermediary, institutional and retirement channels
- Strong analytical, problem solving, and critical thinking skills; ability to think creatively, generate research ideas, and solve research problems
- Experience working with competitive data to support product and distribution strategy
- History of strong written analysis including summarizing large amounts of data or complex models into concise explanations
- Proven track record using industry data to develop data driven insights into actionable insightful intelligence to support executive decision-making
- You are a strategic problem solver with a detailed understanding of various industry trends, investor segments and investment approaches which you regularly use to add new value to our organization
- Experience defining, scoping, and leading research projects from start to finish will be one of your strongest traits
- Strong communication and consultative skills: you enjoy working across a diverse team of business partners and can get others excited about your initiatives particularly the ability to explain sophisticated concepts in a simple, straightforward manner
- Experience partnering and collaborating with key stakeholders across the firm providing and presenting analysis on trends with solution based potential opportunities
The Value You Deliver
- Synthesize quantitative/qualitative intelligence and prepare comprehensive research studies on various investor segments; such studies would include market size, growth, structure, key players, barriers to entry, distribution models, competitive advantages/disadvantages
- Help communicate and implement our team’s vision, values and operating model that aligns and informs Fidelity’s key initiatives
- Explore innovative ideas by using existing team skills and new data sources, tools, techniques to provide forward-looking insights
- Conduct market demand analysis for Fidelity Institutional and Asset Management’s existing investment strategies and participate in discussions that inform the development of new capabilities
