Job Description
Workstations Fundamentals:
- Computer-workstations and their role
- Computer i/o and third-party hardware
- Data collection, storage and analysis
- Networking and Ethernet (subnets, etc)
Fundamental Knowledge of the following:
- MS Visual BASIC (VB6) and VBA.
- Virtualize exiting legacy systems to be hosted on Windows 10.
- Microsoft Office suite (Office 2010, Office O365, etc..)
- Visual Engineering Environment (VEE).
- National Instruments LabVIEW.
- MS Access and general scripting / macros (Java. TLC, etc.)
- Working knowledge of AB (Rockwell Software Suite), Invensys (Wonderware)
Operating systems Fundamentals:
- DOS (Disk Operating System)
- Microsoft Windows (Win’95, Win’98, WinNT, Win2000, WinXP (SP2 and SP3), Win 7 and Win10)
Key responsibilities to include:
- Hardware support – Ability to find hardware issues in many of the computers used in various processes. These can vary from easy to detect (i.e., power supplies, damaged hard-drives, etc.) to the not-so-easy (e.g., corrupted software files, bad downloads).
- “HelpDesk†support – This may vary in both time and complexity. You may be asked to provide support to internal personnel in dealing with some of the “computer changes†required by the corporation.
- “Other†support – This requires leadership, organizational, and consulting skills. This job supports production and you may be called during off hours to handle a situation or repair.
- Preform backup/restore of process PCs.
Required Interpersonal Skills:
- Ability to "multitask" in an everchanging environment.
- Ability to troubleshoot complex systems across a wide range of systems.
- Self- starter
- Organizational skills (lead/conduct meetings, meeting notes / action items, budgets, inventory spreadsheets, etc.)
- Communications skills. Be able to convey a technical situation to non-technical people.
- Willing to constantly learn AND teach across a wide-range of topics (video, scanners, data acquisition, USB, etc.)
- Manufacturing environment experience
- Good working knowledge of the physical process flow as well as the information flow through manufacturing site and systems
