We’re seeking a Lead for our IT Commercial Solutions Team. This is a busy and hardworking operational support team of around 20 people who support a range of commercial systems (including EPOS tills, payment card devices, stock management, car park technology, labour tool, admission scanners and associated back-office systems) and are involved in related projects.
This is a key role within the IT Department and part of our Extended Leadership Team. The IT Commercial Solutions Team support the commercial systems that are used at our properties. These systems are a crucial part of how we engage with our supporters and of their experience of visiting our places (we process ~£160M per year through these systems). As well as supporting these live operational systems, the team have an important part to play in projects to replace or upgrade existing systems and to introduce new systems. The team are part of our decision-making on our technology choices, bringing their knowledge of our business and current systems in to shape our requirements for the future. The team works with colleagues across other teams in IT and with colleagues in our front-line operational teams and the central Support & Revenue team. The projects we are delivering over the next two years will transform the service we’re able to offer to our properties and supporters and will be key in enabling us to grow support in the future by giving us better and richer information about what our supporters want from us, as well as a better and more efficient experience for our supporters and our people who use the systems.
Your contractual location will be our head office in Swindon, however there will be an opportunity to explore and agree hybrid working arrangements which strike the right balance for you and the Trust. The role will involve regular travel to our head office to meet with stakeholders and to carry out work.
The IT Commercial Solutions Team Leader is responsible for leading and managing the IT Commercial Solutions Team – setting clear priorities and objectives, developing and coaching, and creating a positive and engaged climate. You'll monitor delivery, define success metrics, and engage with colleagues across IT and the wider organisation on the operational service being provided. You'll be responsible for professional best practice within the team and ensuring that the relevant IT policies and processes are followed.
You'll engage with relevant projects, providing your knowledge and expertise on current commercial systems and on requirements for new or replacement systems, ensuring that projects are handed over well into live operation and successfully transition from project mode into live support. You'll also manage resourcing and budgets for the team, with delegated authority from the Head of IT Delivery.
