The Position

The General Manager Australia functions are to provide expert strategic and operational advice and services to the DLF Seeds business. This includes the development of detailed and comprehensive Australian strategic and operational plans that aligns with the wider Oceania business’s strategy and the effective management of the Australian Business Units along with the Sales and Supply Chain activities. The DLF Seeds -Australia business is a key business unit and contributor to the wider Oceania DLF business.

The role also has strong oversight and a working relationship with the wider Oceania based management of the Oceania Turf business, International business and the Research & Development unit working within the Australian market.

The role reports to the CEO – Oceania who is based in New Zealand and is part of the Senior Management group for the Oceania business.

The Person We are keen to hear from you if you possess the following key skills and attributes:

• Deep understanding of the Australian agribusiness sector in a senior leadership position, ideally with exposure to the seed industry.

• Experience in the oversight/leadership and strategic direction of a commercial, R&D focussed business or business unit.

• Ability to understand, relate to, and connect with important stakeholders in the agribusiness environment including retail distribution partners, supply chain partners, industry organisations and end user customers.

• Highly developed stakeholder engagement and communication skills with the ability to identify, build and maintain formal and informal networks.

• Understanding and experience of managing financial and non-financial risks.

• Strong business acumen with sound financial skills as well as an understanding of contemporary corporate governance and a result driven mentality.

• Strong people management skills ideally with experience identifying, attracting, motivating, and engaging talent both within DLF and to DLF.

• Ability to create a learning culture where people can realise their full potential to enable DLF to meet their current and future objectives.
