Position Overview:

The primary function of a Field Based Project Manager (PM) is to allow for greater levels of Sales productivity by fully engaging in and taking ownership of all post purchase order (PO) activities.  The PM role is expected to create value for the Eaton sales team, product divisions and customers, acting as the primary liaison between internal and external stakeholders, ensuring all project milestones are met. The project manager is ultimately responsible for the successful execution of the largest, most complex and highest risk electrical projects sold at Eaton (from order entry to order closeout).  This position focuses on data center projects for large hyper scale and Co-Located (COLO) / Multi-Tenant Data Center (MTDC) customers.

The primary functions include managing the technical aspects of major electrical assembly project orders by meeting customer specifications and timelines for all deliverables including but not limited to customer relationship management, project financial management, technical project management, documentation (submittals, engineered drawings, maintenance manuals etc.), coordination of equipment manufacture and delivery, equipment/assembly startup support and addressing quality concerns.

In this function you will:

  • Utilize the Project Management team resources assigned to their project orders.
  • Assess and apply in depth knowledge of sales planning services to internal clients in one or more specialty areas, requiring technical application.
  • Upgrade existing processes, deploy new initiatives, and recommend new solutions based on analysis and customer trends.
  • Ensure compliance with applicable processes and procedures to achieve business goals; 5) provide leadership and development to a sales team consisting of sales professionals, sales reps, and the distributor channel.
  • Proactively use competitive information to leverage advantages of Eaton Corporation.
  • Negotiate internally for resources and priorities needed for customers; and
  • Improve financial position for Eaton and the customer.
  • Effectively manage business in all 4 time zones of the US, coordinating and leveraging resources in those time zones to provide timely and efficient solutions to internal and external stakeholder needs.

Qualifications

Required (Basic) Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution
  • Minimum 5 years’ of electrical industry experience
  • Minimum 2 years’ experience with direct product and people managerial responsibility
  • Sponsorship is not available. Candidates must be legally authorized to work in the U.S. on an ongoing basis without requiring company sponsorship.
  • Possess and maintain a valid and unrestricted driver’s license.
  • No relocation assistance is available for this role 

Preferred qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business or Electrical Engineering
  • Master’s degree
  • Minimum 2-years’ experience managing mission critical datacenter electrical equipment in a manufacturing environment
  • PMP Certification
  • Strong application of Power Engineered products
