The Resort holds permits issued by the Orange County Sanitation District, the Santa Ana Regional Water Quality Control Board and the Orange County Department of Public Works, and maintains an outstanding compliance record.
In this exciting environmental engineer role, you will develop and monitor water resource compliance programs to support the expansion and operation of the Resort. You will have an advanced understanding of the environmental regulatory framework in Southern California and demonstrated past success working intimately with internal partners and enforcement agencies.
You will report to Manager, Environmental Engineering
Responsibilities/You Will
Lead ongoing development of the Disneyland Resort's water resource compliance program, including:
National Pollution Discharge Elimination System (NPDES)
Sanitation District Special Discharge Permit and Class II Wastewater Discharge Permit
Spill Prevention Countermeasure and Control (SPCC) plan
Fat, Oil, and Grease (FOG) Program
Underground Storage Tank (UST) Program
Engage and be a resource to Resort partners such as Food and Beverage, Entertainment, Custodial, Horticulture, and a host of others to ensure their work practices maintain a high level of compliance with applicable environmental rules and regulations
Support internal construction teams in the execution of rehabilitation of attractions and utility infrastructure
Manage internal audit and self-inspection programs to identify and correct deficiencies that could adversely affect the Resort's ability to remain compliant
Develop and deliver trainings
Help prepare master planning documents, feasibility studies, analyses, and reports
Maintain high levels of proficiency and be a trusted subject-matter expert
Basic Qualifications/You Will Have
3+ years of work experience managing water resource compliance in Southern California
Experience working with regional, state and/or federal water resources agencies
Working knowledge of physics and chemistry in water and wastewater systems
Understanding of environmental sampling and analysis procedures
Preferred Qualifications
Experience with Disney Theme Parks and Resorts
Required Education
Bachelor's degree in Chemical, Civil or Environmental engineering or related engineering field
Preferred Education
Master's degree in Chemical, Civil or Environmental engineering or related engineering field
