Position Summary
The Entertainment Technical Manager supports the service and repairs of all Technical Entertainment Systems, parts and spares onboard our vessels and on Castaway Cay. You will coordinate and oversee the repair and service support for all entertainment technical areas in all disciplines including audio, video/projection, show control, automation, lighting, special effects, scenic, props, and puppets.
Reporting Relationship
This position will report to the Manager, Entertainment Technical Operations.
Responsibilities
· Coordinate all RMA requests for equipment to be offloaded from vessels for repair.
· Follow up with Vendors/manufacturer for all service and repair reports, and invoices.
· Coordinate vendor services, both emergency and annual as required.
· Oversee the maintenance of all shipboard technical areas for Entertainment/Youth Activities in all disciplines, including audio, video/projection, show control, automation, lighting, special effects, scenic, props, and puppets. Including but not limited to:
o Planning (preventative and long term)
o Equipment/inventory control
o Safety/Regulatory
o Warranty issues
o Operational budgets
o Pyrotechnics operation
o Evaluate automated reports to ensure that preventative maintenance is performed.
o Evaluate historical maintenance information and correct preventative maintenance accordingly.
· Oversee and upkeep the Entertainment Technical elements of the DCL Maintenance & Purchase Database (AMOS), including but not limited to:
o Function/component updates for all new/replaced equipment.
o Develop and implement preventative maintenance jobs and timelines on serviceable equipment
o Updates from dry docks, new show installs, show changes, and upgrade projects.
o SQS ship walks and shipboard AMOS audits as required.
o Partners with shipboard Entertainment operations team to ensure that entertainment critical spares are stocked onboard.
o Review and upload of shipboard parts requests submissions, verifying
data accuracy, confirmation of part is needed, and database cross-referencing on any proposed chemicals that need MSDS forms registered.
· Follow up with shipboard Entertainment Technical team on Show and End of Cruise Reports to verify that any technical matters have been resolved and track any trending issues.
· Review all Entertainment offload manifests for accuracy, and to verify any needed AMOS updates have been completed.
· Partner with DCL Distribution Center for any Entertainment offload questions, including managing the distribution and storage of any Entertainment technical spares.
· Manage Entertainment Technical Shipboard Project calendar.
· SMS responsibility to uphold the general safety management responsibilities in areas under your control.
· Ensure that all aspects of the Entertainment (technical) operations are in compliance with the regulations of the relevant marine authorities, including USCG, Lloyds, SOLAS.
Required Experience
· 3-5 years' related entertainment technical experience.
· Strong knowledge of Microsoft Office products and inventory database systems.
· Strong understanding of AV brands and equipment life cycles.
