In this role, you'll provide technical support for Eastman Manufacturing Units in Kingsport. Individuals in this role utilize a broad range of electrical skills on projects that range from small, fast-paced production assignments to larger, long-ranged study jobs, development projects, and capital projects.
The individual in this role will:
- Partner closely with Maintenance, Development, and Manufacturing personnel to assist the manufacturing unit in achieving their production, reliability, and maintenance objectives.
- Work in a team environment technologists and engineers with experience ranging from expert to early career.
- Provide support for systems & equipment
- Oversee projects through to completion. The project cycle can include troubleshooting, scoping, estimating, design, specification, installation, startup, and operation support.
- Assist in the installation, check-out and start-up of new or modified equipment.
- Provide electrical technical support for Maintenance and Manufacturing and provide troubleshooting of operational problems related to manufacturing systems and equipment.
- Provide project management and engineering support for projects
- Generate improvement ideas and designs.
- Develop understanding of Eastman’s processes for executing work including large gap analysis or study jobs, Management of Change (MOCs), EJobs, Work Orders, Small Capital Projects, and larger SER capital projects.
- Mentoring and onboarding of less experienced electrical staff.
- Specific skills involved in project work will include:
- Electrical Equipment / Instrument Specification
- Selection of Electrical Equipment
- Capital Project Support
- Project Scope, Definition, and Estimating
- Technical Field support of Electrical
Qualifications
- Minimum of a BS degree in Electrical Engineering from accredited college or university
- At least 1 year of electrical engineering experience (may include co-op/ intern experience)
- Professional Engineering license preferred (not required)
- General electrical engineering skills, including process instrumentation, motors, and electrical systems design
- General electrical engineering skills, including process control, power distribution, grounding, lighting, and analyzers
- Project management skills
- Ability to work in both design office and operating plant environments
- Proficient in Microsoft Office suite, electrical drawing formats, P&IDs, etc…
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to work in a team environment with other engineers, technologists, field maintenance forces, and contractors
