The Role
As FI AI/ML Platform Squad Leader, you blend analytics, technical and data science expertise with a passion for delivering results. As the product owner you are the end-to-end gatekeeper of the squad mission, strategy, and tactical execution associated with delivering on strategic priorities. In an agile structure, you will partner with other Fidelity leaders to influence the broader strategic decisions, roadmaps and resource requirements, set and refine the mission, and bring together a team of chapter members to deliver on specific product features that enable analytics and data science work across Fidelity Institutional (FI). You will ensure alignment on the “what†and “when†work is to be performed through ongoing planning and prioritization of a product backlog. You will enable squad members to work iteratively, innovate through testing and experimentation and learn from failures while celebrating success. You are committed to developing your own expertise and knowledge to ensure you bring the latest thinking to your role.
- Directing a team of Machine Learning Engineers (MLE) responsible for the organizations AI/ML platform and delivering scalable analytic solutions to support the business
- Collaborating with the Artificial Intelligence COE and data science leads to understand, anticipate and support their efforts
- Defining, refining, and communicating the squads' mission and roadmap to motivate and build team and partner support and alignment
- Anticipating, discovering through ongoing interaction with, and prioritizing client / partner needs to serve as their voice and guide execution of the team
- Defining, evaluating, and communicating results against acceptance criteria
- Inspecting and evaluating progress, and removing impediments
- Measuring performance against established objectives and KPI’s that deliver on agreed upon business, technology, and people results
- Collaborating and coordinating with Chapter Leaders and Scrum Masters to build squad capacity and capability and enabling squad member growth, development and learning
- Making informed trade-off decisions to strike the right balance between quality, cost, and timelines
The Expertise and Skills You Bring
- Bachelor's degree (or above) in either Computer Science, Management Information Systems, Business Information Systems, Mathematics or Finance related field;
- Hands on prior experience developing reporting, analytics and/or AI insights is required
- Experience in leading a technical team or leading end-to-end technology solution delivery is preferred
- Experience with cloud ML ecosystems such as AWS SageMaker and Azure ML as well as MLOps platform providers or capabilities
- Experience or familiarity with containerization (Docker) and container-orchestration systems such as Kubernetes
- Experience designing, developing and maintaining dynamic products and solutions
- Financial services experience, preferred
- Agile experience
- Jira and Jira Align experience preferred

- You grasp sophisticated product features and break them into clear and concise stories with well-defined business value and acceptance criteria and optimally communicate these
