Job Description

The Role

As FI Data Enablement and Analytics Platform Squad Leader, you blend deep knowledge of data platforms, analytics/data-science and BI tooling expertise with a passion for delivering results. As the product owner you are the end-to-end gatekeeper of the squad mission, strategy, and tactical execution associated with delivering on strategic priorities. In an agile structure, you will partner with other Fidelity leaders to influence the broader strategic decisions, roadmaps and resource requirements, set and refine the mission, and bring together a team of chapter members to execute on specific product features through data enablement. You will lead a team responsible for the buildout of FI’s analytics layer, supporting business intelligence and data science squads across the organization. You will ensure alignment on the “what” and “when” work is to be performed through ongoing planning and prioritization of a product backlog. You will enable squad members to work iteratively, innovate through testing and experimentation and learn from failures while celebrating success. You are committed to developing your own expertise and knowledge to ensure you bring the latest thinking to your role.

  • Leading a technical team of engineer’s responsible for enabling ease of access and reuse of data amongst the analytics community, supporting Business Intelligence and AI/ML development
  • Will work in close partnership with Technology and Data Foundation Product Area’s to assess and prioritize data needs
  • Responsible for the building curated and semantic data layers that bring to bear the power of Enterprise Analytics Platform
  • Close collaboration with the Artificial Intelligence COE and FI Data and Insights Chapter leads to understand, prioritize and execute on their core needs
  • Defining, refining, and communicating the squads' mission and roadmap to empower and build team and partner support and alignment
  • Anticipating, discovering through ongoing interaction with, and prioritizing client / partner needs to serve as their voice and guide execution of the team
  • Defining, evaluating, and communicating results against acceptance criteria
  • Inspecting and evaluating progress, and removing impediments
  • Measuring performance against established objectives and KPI’s that deliver on agreed upon business, technology, and people results
  • Collaborating and coordinating with Chapter Leaders and Scrum Masters to build squad capacity and capability and enabling squad member growth, development and learning
  • Making informed trade-off decisions to strike the right balance between quality, cost, and timelines

The Expertise and Skills You Bring

  • Bachelor's degree (or above) in either Computer Science, Management Information Systems, Business Information Systems, Mathematics or Finance related field
  • Hands on prior experience developing reporting, analytics and/or AI insights is required
  • Expertise leading a team of engineers on technical delivery of solutions at enterprise scale
  • Strong background working with and leading implementation of universal semantic layers and related tooling (AtScale, Kyligence, Denodo)
  • Experience supporting data science development through Model Ready Data and Feature capabilities
  • Experience with cloud ML ecosystems such as AWS SageMaker and Azure ML
  • Experience working with cloud data store providers such as Snowflake
  • Financial services experience, preferred
  • Agile experience
  • Jira and Jira Align experience preferred
